Come on R J . You can do better than that
I’ll start by saying that the captain should have canceled the trip due to the conditions. We had just had a tropical storm. Water was turned up and the wind was howling. It was raining on top of us too. But I guess the captain still wanted to make the money for the trip. We didn’t catch a single fish that we wanted. Not 1 permit, tarpon or bonefish. His equipment (spinning rods) were subpar. Reels where rusty and not taken care of. Wind knots on every cast. The captain used frozen shrimp on a jig. Only baited the hooks one time for us. It honestly felt like we were polling aimlessly for hours. The winds were to bad that we couldn’t cast far at all. Captain gave us very little instructions on how to target permit. Just said to cast into the potholes. There was very little effort on his end to get us on fish. Basically, if the water is not visible, we were not catching fish. I felt like I wasted 8 hours and $500. My whole reson for coming to Belize was to fish and this charter completely disappointed me. I understand people make money from chartering but if conditions are bad, cancel the trip.

You forgot to mention that you arrived an hour late and were still wasted from the nite before. Lack of sleep and tone def. My equipment is not rusty and you were using braid so that those happen if you are not careful when casting. There was no tropical storm for you your self saw other boats in the flats. Remember not everyday is a catching day.
