4 MARLIN RELEASED ABOARD GOOD DAY! A simply unforgettable day aboard GOOD DAY yesterday as Mark, Chris, Nathan, Claire & Clarke joined us for a day of non stop Marlin action here at Marina Pez Vela Costa Rica. We raised an incredible 6 Marlin, released 3 Blues (180lb, 150lb, 100lb), lost another & had 1 more which would not bite. After an already sensational day, at 3.10pm when we were just about to call lines in and start the 32 mile run home, we hooked a big Black Marlin on one of the 30lb class Sailfish outfits. The fish jumped twice as soon as it was hooked & we immediately knew it was a good sized Black but for the next 45 minutes the fish fought deep as they so commonly do and it was tough to budge it on the light tackle. We were at a stalemate and I was not too hopeful that we were going to be able to release this fish before the sun went down so we put a bit more drag on and with some expert boat handling from Capt Manuel Gabuardi & an awesome effort fighting the fish by Chris we somehow managed to get the fish up to the surface, grab the leader and release the fish just as it went airborne and put on a display of about 8 jumps as it bid us farewell. We estimated the fish at **hidden content**lb Now the Marlin fishing was just epic & everyone had a day they will never forget but to 12 year old Clarke, it was just as important catching the 3 Bonitos that he did as seeing all those Marlin. You should have seen the smile on his face. All 4 Adults on the boat yesterday caught their first Marlin with only young Clarke not catching one, but he came super close as his Marlin came off during the first run. We were Inshore today catching another INSHORE GRAND SLAM, report coming soon & we are back to Offshore tomorrow! ???
