Book ahead of time to get a quality boat. The Brisa Mar at Tamarindo Diriá cooked our tuna and red snapper very well.

Expectation vs. reality are two different fishing perspectives. We did catch fish, just not anything to keep, so if you want to keep fish, I would suggest inland, if you want a true fishing experience looking for the big stuff, definitly give offshore a try, we had a blast!

Be prepared for being out in the sun all day, and make sure you don't get seasick! It's not a huge boat, so the swells can really get you if you don't have a strong stomach.

Captain Daniel with Maryola Tours is a very knowledgeable and experienced Captain! Would definitely recommend and rebook! First Mate Johnny took care of everything and expertly cleaned our catch! Louis with Walters Restaurant took care of our reservation for dinner and had the chef expertly and creatively prepare a 4 course meal that was FANTASTIC!!!!

Ask the skipper what they recommend. They know the water, season and what species are running. Your idea may be at odds with the situation on the water. Fishing is not Catching, so just keep that in mind. I had an amazing experience, but it could well have been an expensive boat ride! Do your homework and hope the fish gods are smiling upon thee. Bucket List Sportfishing was my choice and it panned out very nicely.
