Beginners and pros alike will relish the chance to get out on the calm waters of the bay. These shallow hunting grounds are home to a year-round population of Redfish, Trout, and Flounder – known locally as the “Grand Slam.” Come summer, you’re sure to have your hands full with Tarpon, Jack Crevalle, and plenty more additions to the fishing scene.
You’re also just a short ride away from some productive reefs, where some of the best fishing action takes place. While everyone’s attention turns to Red Snapper when the season opens, there’s plenty of Cobia, Kingfish, Spanish Mackerel, Gag Grouper and much more on offer, too.
And there’s more! Deepwater canyons are well worth the long journey to the Gulf of Mexico. Mahi Mahi and Wahoo are the most popular catches in the deep, but it’s not uncommon to come across Tuna, Sailfish, and even Marlin, so get ready to push your strength to the limit!
To get to the deep waters, you’ll need a few hours, so trips upwards of eight hours are best for this. Heading to the reefs can usually see you max out on a six-hour trip, with inshore fishing lasting as little or as long as you want.

Experience matters ! Capt. Troy put us on fish at an early season date with cold water temps. His mate Dakota was knowledgeable and personable. My wife said she can't wait to come back, that say's it all !

Go out fishing with an open mind. Day to day the fishing changes. Weather is a big/huge factor. Be patient with your Captain. They are doing their best with what the day brings. East Pass Inshore Charters
I'd recommend using King of Kings as he was great with myself and 5 high school seniors (4 of which had never done offshore fishing). They had a blast!

Not as good of fishing in March as it is in June when snapper and other fish are open for catching but still fun to reel in a lot of fish! Mingo is a good eater as is Trigger.

Definitely consider the type of species you aim to catch. Bigger fish require bigger/deeper water. This of course turns into longer boat rides to the necessary habitat. The time in travel can eat into the scheduled time for your trip. If bringing smaller children, you'll be able to get into feisty smaller fish for sure much sooner. They'll have a fantastic time getting into fish much sooner in the trip and have a very memorable time.

We took 2 kids (9 & 11) and 2 grandparents out for a charter today and couldn’t have had a better time. Frank and Bobby put us right on the fish from the first cast. Frank was great with the kids - encouraging them and making sure everyone caught something. In the end, we caught our limit and had time to catch a bull shark. Truly a great time was had by all ages. The boat was clean and welcoming. Next time we’re in Destin - we’d definitely book here again. Thanks guys!

We were turned on to fish , we pulled fish in but your regulations completely stink . You should at least allow 1 fish per person to keep a fish between 12” and 15” . These Captains can get a bad rap if you don’t bring in a keeper all the time . We caught a lot of fish , but only 1 Trigger was in your slot limit .

We woke up to less than ideal weather, low 50°s and cool north winds 15-20mph. We knew these conditions usually slow the fishing down but Si was able to put us on the fish! We caught several species of fish and had a shot on some real nice fish on that ultimately won the fight. Had a delicious lunch with the fish we caught. Would recommend Nelson Guide Company to anyone looking for some inshore or nearshore fishing.

We booked a 4 hour trip with 850 Chsrter. Captain Jared was great. The weather and wine were a little tricky, but he put on the fish.
Everyone caught a lot of fish. He definitely knows the spots. We highly recommend Captain Jared and 850 Charter. Hope to go out again soon.
