I came to vacation in Mexico with two goals in mind: 1) Relax and 2) Catch a Mahi Mahi.

Alfonso and his partner Jesus exceeded my expectations and made both goals happen for my girlfriend and I. Our trip consisted of 3 hours of fishing, a hour break were we snorkeled and hung out on a nice secluded beach, then finished the trip with 2 more hours of fishing. The break was wonderful to break up a long trip and was much needed since my girlfriend was beginning to feel a little seasick. Alfonso and Jesus gladly headed to towards shore to a nice beach where we snorkeled by a wonderful reef with so many colorful fish and playful rays. It was so relaxing and gave my girlfriend the break she needed to continue the fishing trip. During our fishing time, Alfonso and Jesus were able to hook not only 1, but 3 Mahi Mahi for me! Two of the fish we released due to size but one we kept. When we returned from the fishing trip, Alfonso connected us with a restaurant that cleaned and cooked the fish and prepared a nice lunch for my girlfriend and I.

Overall, Alfonso and Jesus were very accommodating and created a wonderful experience for us! Can’t wait to come back and fish with them again!

Alfonso and Jesus are incredible people. Both are friendly and knowledgeable and provided us with the trip of a lifetime! From start to finish they made us feel welcome and insured we had a great time. I would highly recommend this trip to anyone looking for a fun yet simple trip. The fishing starts and ends 5 minutes from the beach where you meet, unlike other places where you spend hours just getting to the fishing grounds. Best of all, your catch can be filleted and cooked for you 100 feet from where you get off the boat. So delicious!!! Highly, highly recommend!!

We were originally scheduled to go out on a Tuesday, but it had to be rescheduled for a Thursday. Alfonso was great at communicating with me leading up to each day. When we went out on April 4, we were able to catch a couple Atlantic bonitos. We didn’t have much luck trolling, nothing was biting. Alfonso took us to a spot where we were able to bottom fish from the side of the boat and we were getting bites pretty quickly. Overall a great experience. This trip was for our 7 year old boy who wanted to go fishing and we have no regrets. We all had a great time and Alfonso and his first mate, Jesus were both great. If we’re back in Playa del Carmen, we will be going back out with Alfonso. The restaurant where we met at cooked our catch for us and it was delicious. Definitely recommend that.

Had a great day with Alfonso and his mate. They made sure to show us the different colours in the sea and lots of flying fish. It took a while before we caught anything, but it’s like they say good things come to those who wait and wow did it ever. We caught a nice big White Marlin! It put up a good fight but Alfonso was there to show me how to bring it in and his mate (sorry forgot his name) helped when I needed a break. Alfonso said the Marlin was over 100lbs.

Everyone dreams of that photo they can take of them on a fishing trip with the Marlin they caught. I’m so happy I have that memory. Thanks for the memories and helping tick that off the bucket list.

My son and I had a fantastic day with the captain and Jesus.we hadn’t left the harbour and he had caught a bucket full of sardines with his net for bait. The day was hard but we still caught loads of snapper, grouper and trigger fish, it was as though the captain had arranged for the fish to be exactly where he wanted them. There was the one that got away to, a big fish that snapped the line ! The captain and Jesus were total professionals and very ecologically minded with ultimate respect for their environment, I enjoyed every minute even though my teenage son son thrashed me and out fished me 3-1, certainly recommend this crew and the boat
