Cody did a great job putting us on fish and was a pleasure to be around.
I had a great time and I hope to see y’all again
Hey Doyle, glad y’all came back and saw me again this year. I apologize that it was really slow day but I plan on making it up to y’all if you let me. come down and do some trophy trout fishing in the winter so I can help you put one on the wall
nice personality as a guide. he works hard to find fish. He could work on returning phone calls, texts at a more appropriate time to customers
I apologize my cell phone’s been on the fritz and, ever since I got it wet it has not acted right. And here’s a good photo I took of y’all bowed up!
Other boats went to a different location and limited out. We caught 4 fair sized trout. Bigger issue was the cursing in front of the ladies at the dock when we returned.
I apologize, should not have cussed when the bird stole the filet out of my hand
On October 28th, 2018 my boyfriend and I went on a fishing excursion with Cody. Let me begin with the lack of communication in the days leading up to the trip. We booked over a month in an advance but had to reach out to fishing booker on the 3rd day before the trip because we hadn’t heard from anyone. When Cody finally called he said he would call the day before and provide coordinates on where to meet him. On the day before we waited to hear from him (the excursion is scheduled for 6am) with a location to meet up but at 7pm we still hadn’t heard from him. Keep in mind we booked this as a Galveston, TX fishing trip. We called Cody at 7pm and he said he was just looking for our number to call us. He said he’d text us the location as soon as we hang up but when we received the text it was for a location 51 minutes away from Galveston. We called him back and he said that’s just where the good fishing currently is and he wants us to have the best opportunity to catch some numbers so…we reluctantly agreed. We felt like we had no choice at that late hour. We had just arrived in Galveston from an 8 hour drive for this fishing excursion. We wake up super early and make the long dark drive 51 minutes back the direction we had just come from the night before and we find Cody on his little small boat ready to go fishing. We were in the bay he said. ??? It was a long day of only 4 fish caught by myself and I think 6 by my boyfriend. These weren’t anything of great size at all. This was an 8 hour fishing trip. He had some boat motor problems and spent some time working on that. The only bait he had was shrimp. He cussed a lot in a very unprofessional manner. I don’t mind that much but it just added to an overall unpleasant experience. He even referred to my boyfriend as Bubba all day rather than calling him by name. After he dropped us off at the dock he had the nerve to text and ask “Bubba"if we mind if he tells Fishing Booker that we were no shows so he could get the fee from them. We of course declined since that wasn’t true. Cody is not a great fishing guide at all. I believe he has a lot of fishing knowledge but he just may not be in a good place in life currently to be offering professional guided fishing excursions to the general public. I think he had us drive 51 minutes to a spot near where he is currently “staying” for his own convenience. Unprofessional and dishonest.
