I was overly impressed by this crew and how hard they worked to put us on fish. Everything was not in our favor and a bunch of the other boats on the water came home with nothing. They crew changed baits and locations non-stop until they got us on fish. They were friendly and the snacks were delicious. So much fun!!
We are really happy to hear that you had fun on board.
Thank you Michael, hope to see you guys on the island soon

Great experience overall. The captain and crew worked the entire time to get us on some nice fish, I’m sure some days are better than others but the Red Snapper and Cuda were nice. Towards the end of the trip we did some bottom fishing which was a lot of fun for the kids. Crew was friendly and did everything for us. Great job!
Trolled all day and caught 2 fish. Never changed taxtics to increase catching. Though we were going off shore but stayed within sight of land. Desiel fumes were heavy throughout the trip
Hola Kyle,
Yes, you came down to the island at the same time as we were getting hit by a heat wave; water was hot and fish were not bitting as often as we would have liked.
Cozumel is blessed with location, the drop off is very close so when fishing the Yucatán Channel we are in more than a thousand feet of water; plus the current comes in from the south and runs north carrying sea weed and baitfish and cooler water, and with them the pelagics. So you are always able to see the shore, either the island’s or the Yucatán Peninsula. In this case, we covered the channel and then from Playa del Carmen to a bit beyond Puerto Aventuras and then a part of Cozumel.
On the unfortunate side, because of the depth and the current, there are no structures to be able to stop and fish from them; in order to find the pelagics we need to continue trolling looking for signs of fish (birds, sea weed lines, current, etc) If looking for reef fish, we can come closer and bottom fish, but you wanted Dorado, Wahoo, Tuna, Billfish
Still got those Mahi Mahis and I’m sure they made a nice dinner.
Thank you and I hope next time you visit the island we can do better.

This was my 3rd fishing trip with the GrandSlam. I have had the same crew all three times. These two are absolutely amazing and work really hard to make sure you catch something and have a fun time. I recommend this crew very much. I can’t wait to do this again next year with the GrandSlam crew!!!!!!!
Muchas gracias Jason!!
See you next year

We had an awesome trip. They accommodated our requests from the start, including picking us up from our resort dock. They shared stories and explained techniques, all while having the lines in the water in 10 minutes of picking us up.
They provided snacks and beverages and helped us catch our dinner that night! Would definitely charter a boat with them again.
