Captain Herbie was very polite and helpful. The gear was definitely well used. We did some trolling, caught a Bonita, hit some bottom spots. Caught fish that were out of season and undersized. It’s fishing, I get it. It was a short trip w the family, (They would not have enjoyed a full day trip.) The weather was very nice and water mild.
Hi Lane! So I’m a bit confused on the review here and what your expectations might have been going into this fishing trip, and what constitutes such a low review here. On a four hour fishing trip in the late fall during a red tide bloom, it’s not very likely that you’re going to catch that monster legal keeper fish you’ve always dreamed of catching.
If the review is more about your experience on the boat or with our captain, please let me know. But a negative review for catching fish out of season and undersized (that the state of florida has complete control over, NOT us) then I think that’s a pretty unfair review. We abide by State and Federal laws, and that’s not going to be changing. Anyways, cheers 🤙🏼

Didn’t catch one fish
Hey Tim. So I’m going to address this in an honest manner here. First of all, you did catch fish. Saying you did not catch one fish is not true. I am glad y’all caught fish! I’m sorry if your experience was not great.
So after rescheduling you, at your request because of your concerns about being sea sick on the day y’all booked, you called me the night before to attempt to cancel the trip. As I explained, our policy is you must cancel before 72 hours before the trip for a refund. When I explained this you threatened me and told me that you would never book with us again and that you were calling your credit card company and claiming fraudulent charges. After hanging up with us you asked me again if you could still fish the next day after being incredibly rude to me. I allowed y’all to fish, and my captain said you were very disrespectful to him the entire time.
He also mentioned that you got angry at one point when you were not hooking fish and threw our expensive equipment on the floor of the boat which is unacceptable. I wish you the best of luck on your next fishing charter experience, but you will not be welcome back on our boat after the way you treated my captain and myself.

Hey Carl. Very sorry to hear you didn’t have a great experience. After talking with you and my captain, he told me that y’all caught a lot of fish and seemed to have a good time until it rained on y’all on the way in. He said y’all were never unsafe and he apologized for the rain, but as I explained to you we cannot control the weather. I apologize if the weather put a bit of a dampener on the trip. I really wish there was something we could do about the weather.
Rods and reels were broken and tackle bad. Boat was is ok shape at best

We keep all of our equipment in top shape and boat clean every single day. All rods and reels are brand new this season, and many have been replaced since last spring as well. Our boat is always in great condition, and was completely renovated last spring. Please let me know what specifics you had issues with.
