Day was slow biting but did catch a PB.
He water were really copy so a couple of us. Seasick but that was nobody’s fault. The captain was super attentive and really knows his way around the Miami waters. It was a slow catch day but my son still caught a decent size fish and the captain made the experience fun for us all. He also gave us all the inside scoop on the sights as we navigated to our fishing points. So we got a sight seeing tour as a bonus to our fishing experience!
I understand there are several things that happen on a fishing trip. I understand not every trip will be successful, but when equipment and other types of gear are damaged and cannot be repaired, the trip becomes less than enjoyable. When we arrived at the chosen location we dropped the first line no problem. On to the second. Once the line was let out, it snagged the bottom, and could not be freed. The line was cut leaving it unusable for the rest of the trip. We move to greener pastures - recommended to fish deep (1000 feet) with only the one line. We reeled in 5 small fish, after 30 - 40 minutes, this line also snagged the bottom and broke. We came back close to shore and jigged with two lines over a wreck for the last 1 - 2 hours. Moving from location to location, the broken line was “setup” for trolling. I was disappointed because there was no back up plan to getting line back up and running. I do understand this gear is expensive, but this is a business. It boils down to this, this trip was based off using two lines. Yet, one was used.
