Charleston and Folly Beach fishing in May! By this time of year our Folly Beach fishing trips and Charleston fishing charters are out most days and having good results most of the time. Deep Sea and Inshore fishing charters are catching many different species of gamefish. Recently we have been able to target Bull Redfish, Sharks, Flounder, Spanish Mackerel, Speckled Trout, Black Drum and more on a daily basis. The water temperature has been hovering around the high 70 degree mark for awhile now, so plenty of species have moved in from offshore into our coastal waters. Unless we have strong winds we have been fishing in the creeks a little less and spending more time fishing the grasslines, inlets and jetties. Warm water and plenty of natural bait has all our local game fish feeding on a more consistent basis. Folly Beach has endless miles of shoreline to fish and Charleston has so many depth changes to explore we have been leaving the dock with over a dozen fishing rods stowed, just so we can be prepared for anything. Nearshore fishing charters have been catching Big Redfish, Black Drum other bottom fish. We have been fishing the reefs and rock piles closer to the beaches and there has been plenty of activity there. This is a great time of year for all kinds of anglers. Our fishing charters range from 3 hr trips to 10 hour trips and start at $400. We are happy to host everyone from beginners of any age to seasoned anglers, we will be able to put together a great experience for you. I suggest you make your reservations as early as possible. The schedule is filling up!

Warmer water has arrived and now the fish are more motivated to hunt down our baits. We have been fishing shrimp and minnows under popping corks with good success for Redfish and Speckled Trout. Black Drum have been biting well along shore structure and docks. Its a great time to get on the water. Let's go!

The past few days have been good as we pushed back into the creeks to get out of the wind. Zeke and I found a spot where the Redfish were piled up around an oyster bed near some deep water. We drifted live minnows into the hole and got bit consistently for nearly two hours. The next day Peter and I went in the other direction and found a school set up just outside some shallow water. Peter landed his cast just above the school and let the current push it into the strike zone. Peter landed so many quality Redfish that he told me halfway through the trip that his arms were tired and he was ready to call it a day. That doesn't happen often but when it does I know we had a good day!
