We went out when the tides were making it very challenging to catch halibut. Other boats we were hearing had zero catches for the day but Captain Justin and Joe were able to still get us MANY catches - each person left with 2 above average size halibut.

Bring lots to drink and plenty of ice in your cooler. We did not expect it to be as hot as it was for an early May date. Put more ice in your cooler than you think you will need so you have some left to keep the fish fillets cold. Ours was almost completely melted by the time we got back to the dock, so one of our guys ran to the store to pick up a bag while our guide was cleaning fish.
