Alder Lake Kayak Fishing Guide Kokanee
I meet you at the boat launch with your kayak fully geared up and ready for you to fish!
You captain your own kayak, I will be in my kayak along side you helping you get on fish. Unlike a typical fishing charter where you mostly take turns reeling in fish, I provide a unique 1 on 1 experience walking you thru how and where to target these fish, what to use, how to read your fish finder, tips and tricks to catch more Kokanee, how to safely fish from a kayak. This is an excellent experience if you are a beginner looking to learn how to fish or an expert that wants to pick up some new tricks and fish up close and personal with the water from a fully loaded fishing kayak!
On Alder Lake, we mostly slow troll for Kokanee. The best bite is in the morning, however, generous limits of 10 Kokanee and 5 Trout can be caught all day long. If we limit out before your trip is over, we can target Smallmouth Bass or the massive White Crappie. You will use Hobie Pro Angler Pedal Drive Kayaks fully outfitted for trolling. I will provide the kayak, rods and reels, pole holders, net, fish finder, kayak cooler (for snacks or fish), and tackle.
Kokanee are a landlocked Sockeye Salmon. They are abundant and one of the most delicious species to eat! While Salmon season in the salt is very limited, Kokanee can be caught year-round and have a much higher bag limit than their relatives in the saltwater.
Be sure to buy a local fishing license and discover pass ahead of time. Plan to dress in layers and wear appropriate footwear (if you aren’t sure what that means, just ask). It’s never a bad idea to bring bottled water, sunblock, sunglasses, and snacks in any weather conditions.
We fish rain or shine; however, safety is our highest concern. If wind conditions are forecasted over 10 mph on the day of your trip, we will have to reschedule
