Ventura has a fish with your name on it, so let True Blue Adventures help you catch it! Having logged many hours on these tides, Captain Darryl can tell you all about the local fishery.
These waters are known for Calico Bass, California Sheephead, Mahi Mahi, Halibut, Lingcod, Rockfish, White Seabass, Squid, Bluefin Tuna, Yellowtail Amberjack, and more.
You’ll target your catch by spinning, trolling, drifting, jigging, bottom fishing, or maybe something more specialized in this area. Fish caught during the trip are yours to take home, so long as they’re within the legal limit. The crew can even clean your catch for you. Have a cooler ready in the car!
You’ll be dropping lines from a 24’ Sea Chaser that holds up to 4 passengers. It has outriggers and all the essentials no fishing machine can run without. There’s a toilet on board for your convenience. Rods, reels, and tackle are ready for you, along with lures. Live bait is available, but be sure to ask about it so you know if you’ll be catching it yourself.
You’ll have the help of a First Mate to put you on fish. It’s customary to tip the Mate 10–20% to show your appreciation. You might need to buy a local fishing license before the trip. This information is usually available online, or you can ask the captain. Some species may be off-limits or require a special tag, so make sure you know what to expect.
Trips with True Blue Adventures are child-friendly, so feel free to make a family day out of it! Be sure to ask if child-sized life vests are available. It’s never a bad idea to bring sunscreen (non-spray), sunglasses, and bottled water. Drinks will be available for you. Alcohol is not allowed. There will be some light snacks included on board.
Now’s the time to experience fishing in Ventura for yourself with True Blue Adventures!
