Awesome experience with captains Salatiel and Dan of the Gardi Crew. Communication was excellent leading up to the trip. These guys really know how to hunt the fish and didn’t quit until we found the Mahi Mahi bite. After some action and a few near strikes we landed this beauty. The captain was attentive to every need. At the end of the day he gladly cleaned and expertly filleted the fish which I brought back to the hotel. We ate like kings that night enjoying the freshest of Mexico’s bounty. I definitely recommend the experience and would absolutely come back for more great fishing adventures in Playa Del Carmen with the Gardi Crew!

This was such a great experience! My husband was celebrating his 30th birthday and his request was to catch and target Mahi Mahi. Captain Salas delivered. We caught 4 mahi mahi and had a blast. Not only did he listen to our requests, he also made us feel very welcome and is very good at what he does. I get incredibly sea sick, and the whole crew was super understanding and checked up on me. These guys know how to fish well and work as an awesome team. He explained to us how and what we were fishing. I highly recommend booking with him, you won’t be disappointed

My only complaint, and maybe this is just how it is, but you still deserve to know:

You see the three big fish? No fight or sport involved. When we hooked the big barracuda the captain threw up the throttle hard right away. We were going so fast all three of those fish were just skimming the top of the water, and all we did was reel in the weight. Maybe that’s how it has to be, but I’m guessing they prioritize getting the fish in the boat over actually getting to fight the fish.

If he had asked, I’d rather have risked losing the fish but enjoyed the sport of bringing it in. The ONLY reason I booked this trip was to fight a big fish if we got lucky enough to hook one, and those little fish ended up giving me more fight.

If you’re an amateur you’ll probably have a blast. But my one and only goal (to fight a big fish) was the one thing I didn’t get, that maybe I could have.

Spent a full day 8 hours trip with the Gardi Crew. Amazing experience altogether. Crew were very nice and communicative - even in german! Had the best Amberjack Ceviche right fresh on the boat. Absolutely delicious! They know where and how to get the fish that you wish for. I wished for Amberjack and Mahi Mahi - got both of them! 8 hours of fishing with these guys ran really fast, it was a LOT of fun! Definitely something one must experience!

Ein perfekter Angeltag, ich habe genau das gekriegt was ich wollte - Mahi Mahi und Amberjack. Die Crew war sehr sympathisch und wusste genau, was zu tun war. Ich konnte mich sogar auf Deutsch unterhalten, und hab das beste und frischeste Amberjack-Ceviche der Welt gegessen - direkt auf dem Boot!

Me and my girlfriend booked a full day trip with Capt. Sal , his son , and brother. From start to finish we felt as if we were family . We had great weather and Capt Sal . had us on fish quickly . One thing Capt Sal. and the crew are great at doing is accommodating you and your party’s skill level to have a successful trip . My girlfriend had never been out fishing on the ocean before so you can imagine how I felt when I got excited and booked a full day ….. as we trolled back in she looked at me and asked when are we going again! I highly recommend Gardi Crew for your Playa fishing trip with over 50 years of local fishing knowledge between Capt. Sal and his crew you can’t go wrong ! This was a Great fishing trip , your gonna get wet , your gonna have fun , that’s fishing ! Thank you Capt . Sal and the Gardi crew for an unforgettable memory !
