We had a slow day, with a few small tuna caught early and a few wahoo missed. There were quite a few sharks in the area (atypical) that were keeping the fish down deep. Boat is big, wide, and stable. - great for larger groups and rougher seas. Captain Humberto and deckhand Eduardo are a great team and if there are fish in the area they will put you on them. There was not a lot of chit chat, other than normal pleasant conversation - which I prefer.
The captain and first mate were very knowledgeable and so kind. They worked incredibly hard trying to get us a catch. I would definitely book with them again!
It’s was a pleasure having you aboard 7 Double Hook Charters. Looking forward to see you again.
So fishing was slow for the first 4 hours and 2/3 of my gang was feeling seasick. Then the captain and first mate changed our fishing approach by using different bait. Wow we started being too busy to be worried about anything but if we could get the Wahoo in without being eaten by the sharks that were attacking them as well. Fun and we had plenty of Wahoo for a great grilling of our catch that afternoon. A trip to remember.
Went with a group of 6, captain is very knowledgeable and has a great view on the second deck. He was able to identify schools of mahi, and tuna. We had so much fun we went the next day again. You can comfortably book with Humberto and know you will be in good hands. We caught lots of mahi, tuna, had a 100 lb Wahoo on the line twice but lost it. Can’t wait to come back to slay the Marlin!
Capt Humberto did a great job with me and my boys. The boat was great, well stocked, and comfortable. Unfortunately both of them got sick pretty early on as the waves were really choppy - something very common in these waters so you need to know that going in and prepare accordingly. (Dramamine the night before too!). We did catch two kingfish before cutting it short though which was awesome!
