Caught one barracuda trolling for 4 hours. Pretty rough day as far as wind and waves. Not much you can do I guess.
Trolling on the way out, we caught one small Bonita that we ended up using as bait. We kept moving until we found fish and would stay in that spot until it slowed down then move to another. Caught a nice wahoo on the hand line what was a GREAT experience. Lots of small barracuda and tuna, and one good sized barracuda. Most of the action was in the first half of the trip and slowed down as the sun got higher. Something snapped the 200# test on the hand line, and they brought another right out. For the price and experience, it was definitely worth it and would recommend. We also had a line break on a rod, but the line looked old and frayed before we left the dock. That would be my only complaint, but it was easily overlooked by all the fish we caught and the great crew.

Took a trip with my wife on the Jeliray in September had an excellent time. Caught a bunch of fish. Contributed to our decision to return to Aruba in February including a second trip on the Jeliray. We were happy to see Swa again with a different son (Raymond this time. The other son’s name escapes). They did an excellent job keeping us the outskirts of the stormy weather and rougher seas. Caught a wahoo on the handling. Capt Rene has a solid operation. We will be back.
The charter was a little difficult to find since the marina doesn’t have any signs, but Rene guided me right to the boat. Once on we met the crew and headed out. Thankfully the seas were calm. We hooked up on three and landed a mahi and a bonito. There was a rain storm around so it may have effected the amount of fish caught but it was still a good time with a super nice crew. We pulled in and took pictures, then they filleted the fish and took them to the restaurant (Lucy’s) for us. FYI. The boat is literally behind Lucy’s.

From the moment we walked onto the boat the captain and mate made us feel welcome. The captain put us on fish and the mate kept the lines in the water with fresh bait. We caught 5 fish, my 9 year old son caught 3 and I caught 2. The mate helped my son land the fish. My son said the fishing trip was the highlight of an overall amazing vacation!
