Mesquito Fleet was EXCEPTIONAL! Blas our captain did a great job changing our spots and methods to put us on the fish. We caught a 38 lb Yellow Tail… A true fighter. We also caught a Mexican Tuna, Sea Bass, Rooster fish, + 1 more more I don’t know the name of.
We highly recommend the experience1
One last thing…. Blas and the other Mesquito Team spoke english which really made it easy… Thanks, Scott Skaletski Wisconsin, USA

Thanks Scott glad you had a great time.
My wife had booked a fishing trip online for her, myself and our 14 yr old son for my birthday. She ordered the ( 26 ft super Pangea ) a newer boat with a washroom aboard. Upon arriving we noticed the boat did not have a washroom on board and it was much older than the boat in the photos. After meeting with Richard ( the manager ) and stressing our concerns, he then told us the trip was going to cost another 160.00. ( for a few sandwiches and a Fishing licence) and stated if we have a problem with it that we should leave. Not wanting to ruin the day we paid the extra money. After getting out on the water and into the fishing area our captain made it very comfortable for us to fish, as he was very pushy and snappy when we would hook into a fish and try and grab the rods. We have all fished our entire lives so this made it very unenjoyable for us. That being said we called the trip short. In the end a 3 hr fishing trip costed 13000 peso. I would not recommend this company or Richards poor customer service to anyone.

We clearly made you aware in the chat of the additional charges for lunches, drinks, fishing licenses and bait as stated on our page
Absolutely the best fishing trip of my life. Carlos was magnificent. Highly recommend mosquito fleet. Cortez Club is top notch.
Thank you so much Rocky and please come back to see us again one day! We appreciate your kind words.
We had a terrible experience, our main Captain James called in a last minute substitute. Poor Jo’s was about 30 minute late because he got called in to work on his day off. We normally try to get the situation remedied before leaving a bad review as we understand things happen but here we are, we did get an apology. We paid over $700 and we were charged $ 50 for bait but had to pay an additional $30 to buy bait from a local fisherman. Jos did not seem ready nor did he care. We were in the water for over 7 hours and engaged very little making it a very unpleasant experience. We booked a fishing trip for 4 but he only had 2 poles in the water. Find a small local fisherman and small Company, they try their hardest to make sure you have fun and fish. This is not the place to hire if you want to go fishing. I heard a group of snorkelers come in very happy with their experience, their staff was very attentive and looked happy catering to that particular group of customers, they should stick to that!.
Wow! I just read the response from the Mosquito Fleet. My wife of 26 years is from Chihuahua, Mexico and my three children are Mexican citizens. I’m appalled with Captain’s response as he was talked firmly by James about our experience and did not speak much English as we struggle to communicate. Not racist or anti-Mexican I love Mexico!. Hope you have a better experience.!

Absolutely filthy disgusting lies how rude and sad you must be to write this racist and anti Mexican slander. This is Josefat a reputable captain and I am so disturbed by these utter lies.
Very friendly Captain (Frank), although experienced in only some dimensions of sportfishing. Limited bait supplies—spent two hours trying to catch live bait—why aren’t live bait suppliers using a broader set of strategies to catch live bait of various sizes (seining, cast nets, etc.)? Our bait was very large (more than a pound each—but quality mackerel).
The large engine (115 HP) had a relatively fast troll speed at its lowest speed—the fleet really needs electric motors or other techniques to develop optimal and slower trolling speeds for live bait. Also no depth finder on the boat to find bait and fish.
The worse part was the motor ran poorly the entire trip and “died” at least 30 times (not kidding!). We ultimately could not get back to port and a second panga had to come out and pick us up and tow the boat in.
Besides all that we did land one nice rooster fish (only fish we hooked all day).

Gil, Thank you for your comments and for visiting us in La Paz. Bait can be scarse at different times of the year so we use either larger mackerel or caballitos when sardines are harder to find. The brand new 150hp engine had a gasket leak and we are sorry firvthat since it was serviced the day before after being run in. Nice rooster by the way and we hope to see you again.
