Excellent crew. Had a blast! I caught the two most deadliest species in the ocean a shark and barracuda. I would definitely recommend.

Our family of 5 went out fishing this morning and had a blast even in the intermittent rain!!! We caught fish, and the hospitality of Captain Matt and Mate JJ was beyond what we expected!!!!! We would recommend this voyage for all ages! The boat was very clean we had an amazing experience!!!!
Thank you and your family for joining us here aboard Marlin My Darlin and thank you as well for this great review. It was fun for not only yourselves but Matt and JJ as well. Take care and have a great summer.
captain was very professional. boat was super nice. the mate was nate, and he hussled his butt off for us. if you are staying at the bahia mar hotel the slip is in the next parking lot. it was a great trip and was super close and convenient. will definitely do again when we go back to ft. lauderdale.
Started out a little weird as the Captain (Matt) was very arrogant!
But for the trip he stayed up on the bridge and we had the pleasure of communicating with Andrew the first mate… great kid and he knows his stuff!
They didn’t take us out very far and we only fished 90-150’ of water… not sure if they were trying to save on gas but we still caught a few small ones…
Thanks to Marlin my Darlin for a great birthday!

If a Captain deserves being labeled as arrogant for adhering to Federal law by not allowing you to bring aboard what you wanted to bring aboard, and being clear and direct in his statement to you ( the proper statement) then your assessment of him as a person would have been accurate. In actuality such actions would have A: Very much jeopardized his Coast Guard license (which is his livelihood) by knowingly allowing you to bring that aboard, and B: Certainly and without doubt exposed myself to potentially serious consequences to my boats and business. Federal Law is explicit and precise regarding registered and Coast Guard documented vessels and is therefor the way we respond. His telling you no was proper and correct, was not meant to offend, and in no way warranted the statements and pot shots you penned here, especially the profane one, which Fishing Booker removed. Possibly his response to you was construed as blunt, and if so we obviously wish that hadn’t been taken as such. I’m sure it was precise, as there is no so to speak wiggle room there, and so was was not meant to offend you, but only to affirm that cannot happen. More power to you, but not aboard please. That said I really wish you hadn’t taken these pot shots at Captain Matt. He fished as committed as he does every charter, despite the tension. You spent some time and caught your fish (the Wahoo and three Mahi-Mahi) in water less than 200 feet, not because he was trying to “save gas”, but because that was where you has bites and caught the fish, also spending time out in depths from 300 to 500 feet where you had no bites.(90 to 150 feet in depth here is actually along the edges of our outermost reef and just slightly outside as depths begin to drop off as one passes off that reef line). The fishing depth had everything to do with your catch, and in a positive way. A lot of people have already and will continue to view your posted photo of that “small one”.... Truly too bad you didn’t connect with Captain Matt. You had some things in common, those being a love of fishing ( he is a 2nd generation fishing Captain), and also that he has kids 9&11, so near in years to the two your party brought aboard…. .Pleased you enjoyed Andrew, we are very fond of him ourselves, but Capt. Matt also very very much knows his stuff as well, and put you on fish when other boats in the fleet struggled as evidenced by those empty fish racks on the dock. We as you and most all fishermen are most always hoping and pushing for more. Pleased you had a good (“great”) birthday, wish you many many more, and hope you enjoyed your fillets. Tight lines and good fortune in your future fishing trips.
