We had a great trip with Captain Sonny. We went out on the best possible day in April, warm weather but the wind was ripping! With that sad, Captain Sonny’s expertise came through and we were able to land 8 fish against the wind conditions. He allowed us to fish, without any handholding. He just gave us great advice on the area, great pointers, and was patient with teaching my wife how to fish and make it fun. My wife out-fished by the way, 6-2.  No keepers but sooo much better than a skunk. I’d strongly recommend Captain Sonny for your trip in the marshes versus going out in the middle of the Atlantic.

The captain is quite knowledgeable and experienced in his craft. He is ready and willing to answer any fishing questions you may have and is patient when teaching you how to use his gear. (I hadn’t fished in many years and he helped me remember much I had forgotten.) He also allows you to control your experience while still guiding you in certain areas so you get the best out of the trip. Would 100% recommend to anyone who wants a small, personal, non-commercial experience with a very attentive captain.

It’s hard to describe what a great time I had on this trip.  We hit schools of bluefish, and I have never had so much quick action, catching fish after fish.  We kept our limit and returned many safely back to the water.  Later cruised back in creeks and caught multiple species, including red drum, spot, etc.  Had fried spot for dinner last night.  Delicious!  This was my second trip with Sonny and I give my highest recommendation to anyone who wants a great day of fishing.

We chartered this trip primarily to take our 8 year old grandson fishing while he’s visiting from out of state. Captain Sonny was a great guide and host and we caught plenty of fish even though the wind conditions were somewhat less than favorable. We caught several mullet and croakers, a couple of “spots”, a trout, a few stingrays, and a nice 19 inch redfish. The topper for the day though was our grandson said he wanted to catch a shark. Captain Sonny said he knew a spot that had a good chance of making that happen. Success! It was a small shark but the fight it gave on light tackle and the excitement of our grandson getting to tell everyone he caught a shark was just amazing!

We had a great time and I’d vey much recommend this charter. Really looking forward to fishing with Captain Sonny again when we get the chance!

I can’t say enough great things about Captain Sonny and the experience he gives to his clients! He’s not just a great and experienced Captain, but anyone who has met him will say that he’s a great person as well!  This crazy world that we’re living in right now can use a lot more of Captain Sonny’s!  My son, who usually keeps to himself, has not stop raving about his fishing experience that Captain Sonny gave us! We missed the big catch within minutes of our half day trip, but overall caught many fish and soaked in the beautiful scenery! Sometimes missing a big catch like that is a great learning experience. My son can’t wait to get back out on the water and catch the big one next time! Also, thanks to Captain Sonny, my son is now on my side in trying to talk mom into buying a boat!
