We had a gread time. Our captian tried everything to get a bite and stayed out late with us so that we could catch some fish.
Booking this angler boat was easy and finding our boat and getting fishing licenses could not have gone smoother. The best part of our experience was our captain, Domingo. He knew exactly where to go for the fish we were looking for and he kept us busy with five poles in the water at all times. He made sure our lines were baited for the Dorado fish we wanted and that we got our limit! Domingo made our trip fun and rewarding! Domingo ROCKS! Thanks a million! See you next year!
Pedro was kind and polite. That being said, I had booked a boat with a bathroom, in fact it was my only search requirement. That boat with the bathroom clearly went to the other group waiting at the dock ahead of me. When I arrived, I was handed my fishing license and then down the ramp we went. As the first group boarded. I was told that cost total would be 180 dollars additional to the 55 bucks I had paid online, and that my boat would be pulling up shortly. I paid money the representative. Before I could ask about the snacks and water available for purchase the representative says “ this is captan Pedro” and vanishes. Im looking at this open top boat with an outboard trying to figure out where they have hidden the bathroom or at least a bucket. Surprise, no bucket. To late now, I’m standing in the boat still wondering where the toilet is as we motor off toward the open sea. Now the scenery was in deed amazing as we were leaving port. The guys hand-lining our live bait were cool and it was great to see that is how they still do it that way. Spoiler alert, this would be the closest we would get catching fish all day. Yes, we all know its not called catching for a reason. We motored passed cliffs and off to deeper water, being knocked around by the wake of the other bigger boats as we went. As the boat began to rock more and more and the swells increased In size I started to eyeball the pile of sun bleached life jackets at bow of the boat. My seat cushion was technically a flotation device as well and I tried to take comfort in the fact that boat, as old as it was clearly hadn’t sunk to the depths in the past and therefore would most likely not sink today. Pedro through out three rods with squids lures and we putted out to where all the other boats were headed. After thirty minutes and a lot of chatter on the radio we saw a boat landing a fish in the distance. Pedro slowed up the boat and had me reel in the rod I was holding and he reeled in the other two lines that were now tangled to the point that I don’t know if they would have caught a fish if one had one bit, this happens though. . Pedro put on the live bait and we puttered over to where the fish was just caught. We zigzagged around that area for a bit and then eventually moved on. We spent the next four in half hours trolling up and down the coast. Three times the reels made a noise and three times Pedro would slow the boat and attempt to set the hook after he was satisfied the fish was on he would hand me the pole and say “OK” and I would reel, only there were never any fish on the rod. I would play the bait in as if it was going to some how become an actual fish. Or think well maybe the fish is swimming at me! It didn’t and it wasn’t. Each time we would examine the bait Pedro would point out where he thought a fish had nibbled at it and then he would send it back out for another round. The last time the bait had been drug to death and was missing an eye. That was supposed to be a sure sign that a fish had taken it. We did get a new bait after that. We drug that bait around for the remainder of the 5 hours same as before. We did see what Pedro said was a hammerhead following the bait . Pedro said hammerhead and then changed directions. I think we were trying to avoid it I’m not sure. Eventually tine ran out , Pedro shrugged and said we were out of time and we motored back to the pier. Arriving at the pier Pedro seemed a little dismayed that there was nobody there to help us dock the boat, he managed on his own and I hopped off. Thanked him for his time and tipped him. Only because he was kind and offered me some of his water when he didn’t have to. Yeah, I know, you get what you pay for, but in this case you get about half that.

We are sorry Jeremy did not enjoy his time on the water, open bow pangas don’t usually have a head on board, non the less Sushi Time pangas do (picture attached). Our procedure states to walk the customer to the boat and wait until departure which was done, the customer was offered a day prior to his departure the option to add Lunch and drinks, which unfortunately he did not accept (communication attached). We are sorry for the slow catching day, although we were lucky enough to have more than a few bites that day, but as well said by Jeremy it’s called fishing not catching. Pedro is a great and kind Captain, we apologize for not exceeding the customers expectation, sometimes fish are uncooperative. We strive to offer excellence in service and guest satisfaction is our main concern.
