The trip was booked to coincide with a graduation so not fishing wasn’t an option. The weather was cold and rain. The captain was on time and took us to the jetty per the charter but the fish weren’t there and we spent the day waiting on a bite. 6 rods for 3 men fishing resulted in 1 black drum and 2 catfish. NOT an impressive day for the fare. I felt there should have been more spots to try, not just wait for a fish to come by….
We essentially had a privet trip since it was only the four of us, the captain and his deck hand which was nice. The wind was high so we ended up fishing near shore…. places we could have fished for free. They also seemed to not be equipped for this kind of fishing. The hooks where to small and the shrimp (I would have used squid) kept getting pulled out without catching the fish, to make matters worse there wasn’t enough weights on the lines to keep them on the bottom when more was requested the deck hand informed us it was operator error….. overall it was a pleasant day but the day before when fishing in the ocean with just one person caught more fish…. today we caught 6 eatable fish in the 4 hours with a professional guide. If it had been my company or boat I would have offered to stop half way though and charged half price.

only caught I half a dozen small fish not much action I felt we should have caught larger fish. Captain was nice got it there and back safely but the fishing was poor. spent 500 bucks to catch a few small bait size fish should have stayed in Houston and fish the local pond for nothing. Thanks.
