The northwest winds finally gave us a break and the fishing was fantastic! We started the day with a nice Dorado and following my clients request we headed offshore for big game! We put out the heavy gear and proceeded to troll up the line towards the Los Arcos area. We were well after the tide and despite perfect conditions and ample bait showing we couldnt raise a fish. I decided to move inside to the **hidden content** feet area just offshore and troll sewed baits. This worked well as we raised a couple of Striped Marlin and caught and released one. A quick troll downhill to the Pedregalito area produced another Dorado. So with ample dinner filets in the bag we geared back up for the big stuff and swung it back outside! We were tacking downhill working the El Molino area about 3 miles out when this Blue came crashing into the pattern. She was all over the short flat Petrolero and reaking havoc on anything in sight! Deckie Marcos grabbed the 40 lb. Set up and pitched a live bait bait caballito into the pattern. The fish lit on that delicious treat and it was "Hook-up!". John was up and in the chair and did a fantastic job. That fish went balistic and put on quite a jumping show like only the Blue Marlin can do! We had it to the boat and released it in 31 minutes. It was around 220 lbs. and that put angler John into the 5-1 Club for his great catch and release on 40 lb. test line! It was another memorable day onboard Picudo! This bite shows no signs of slowing! Gotta love Fall fishing at the Cape!!
