Beschreibung des Ausflugs

Yesterday we welcomed Wendy, Leanne, Fred, Adrian & Kyle from California for an Offshore charter aboard GOOD DAY. We found a ton of activity at 14 miles with diving birds, lots of Dolphins feeding but decided to keep running and then found another patch of fish at 26 miles with again lots of birds & dolphin activity. We had a good spell with 4 Sailfish raised and 76 year old Fred caught his first ever Sailfish. We lost another Sailfish which spat the hook, missed another and when we were photographing Fred's fish a Sail came up and tried to eat the teaser which was barely touching the water but unfortunately we couldn't get him to eat a bait despite best efforts. There was a lot of action with two Blue Marlin releases by Reel Inn 2 & Caribsea who were fishing close to us and several other lost/missed Marlin. There were more Sailfish in the area than we have seen for some while with some of the boats getting 8-9 Sailfish bites, strong numbers for this time of year. We spent the last hour of the day in by the rocks trying to catch a Roosterfish or something for dinner. We lost one fish and then Kyle caught a Reef Shark which put up a great fight to end the day. We briefly caught sight of a Humpback whale but when we went over for a closer look it went deep and didn't resurface whilst we were around. A great day out with a really lovely group of people!
