Ask others what to expect. Find out what time of day is the best time to go out, whether to go offshore, and whether the present conditions are conducive to catching what they are targeting. I would not recommend the trip we took, but that isn't to say that trying a different time of day and a longer period wouldn't be better.

I would definitely take a chater if you want to catch fish the captain's are local and have their own spots.

Choose a reputable booking site and captain. Fishing Booker has the best reputation and the best captains. They'll handle all the complicated stuff for you

Not extremely hot temperatures with a light cool breeze makes fishing a wonderful experience

You’d be a fool not to give Captain Dave a chance to show you how your fishing trip is supposed to be!

Yes, be sure to keep an eye on your depth finder. There are a lot of sand bars, so for your boat not good.....fishing awesome.

If fishing in July it is best to not necessarily expect to catch the fish you’re targeting thus referring it to fishing versus catching. Captain Mike was very informative and very helpful.

Weather conditions can affect ability to go offshore fishing. Full moon can also decrease ability to catch fish.

I would fish under the causeway at the peer. Great people nice peer with restrooms and lighted fishing peer.

Start out with a 4 hr trip to get your feet wet with deep sea fishing. Be prepared if you have rough seas. Dramamine is your friend!

Check out recreational red snapper in Federal waters. Fish for red snapper in 75 to 80 feet of water.

Be patient, not the best time of the year to fish, but they are out there if you have the right guide!

Water is a little cool for strong bite but the fish are out there and it's still better than fishing up north this time of year LOL!

Be patient! Fishing is about being patient and that can be hard trait sometimes. Listen to the boat captain and crew they will teach you everything you need to know.

Pick a comfortable boat with AC. The Ocean can lay down and be glass smooth in July but that also means no breeze.

Get a good guide that grew up fishing the Port Orange waters, knowing where the fish will be is 95% of a successful fishing trip. Age doesn't always provide the required knowledge.

Pay a little extra and take the nearshore charter. The bigger fish aren't in the backwaters yet
