If you want to watch someone catch fish for you this is your guy. It was more like we were guests on his fishing trip unfortunately a huge waste of $ I’ve been on guided trips all over Texas for every species and this was the 1st trip that we actually had to compete with the guide to fish. I could have stayed home watched the fishing channel then went and bought fillets from wal mart and got the same experience for $500 less then the $550 we got charged for the trip

Use live minnows around 35 feet deep around standing timber with live scope , if you don’t have that then go around the bridge pillons , you’ll be surprised what you might find around them in the same depth

Hire Tim to guide you. The weather conditions we encountered on Lake Fork would have ruined our trip if we had fished without a good guide. Also, Lake Fork is a dangerous lake because of all the stumps in it.

Not use to a bunch of county roads that were covered with trees, I'm from Lubbock; but everything you need is there, Stay at one of the two main Lake Resorts, good Italian restaurant just block from them.

Decide if you want big bass or just a lot of bass. If you want big bass then you will not catch many and you need to be prepared for just a couple at best. If you want a lot of bass make that known ahead of time. If you want a lot of fish period then go for crappie.

Definitely contact the guide before hand and make see how the bite is and factors that may have changed

I would highly recommend Captain Jimmy Reardon. He put us on some nice crappie and is very knowledgeable of Lake Fork.

It’s known as a big bass lake but don’t expect to always get one -enjoy the company , the scenery and the experience-a big catch is a bonus!

It’s the land of the giants. In March and the spawn in general you could easily catch the bass your lifetime. Great place.

Get a guide. Too many stumps in this lake if you are new to Lake Fork.... Especially while the lake is down so far. Be safe #Stoney #bass

We were fishing lake fork in Aug. Capt Jimmy was able to put us on the fish. They were tough to pull out of the cover but he was great in showing us how to get them to bite

Get a guide! They will help you understand the lake .and get on fish.
If you take your boat on Lake Fork for the 1st time...beware of stumps. Be VERY careful when you leave the boat lanes.

If you are into big bass there is no place like it. Bass capitol of the world. No need to say much more. Make sure you book with Jimmy reardon.

The bite may be difficult but you will definitely learn new techniques for dealing with less than ideal fishing conditions.

Check the weather for the days you plan on fishing. I learned (Courtesy of captain Tim May) that the fish love water temperature when it's at mid 70s.

Be ready with essentials as nearby stores are far and few, good food is hard fine and logging needs much improvement.

The water was cold from the biggest ice storm in a century but we still got a few. Jimmy was great and the guys can't wait to book again!

If you have a choice, go when temps are above 60, and little to no wind, and sunny.

Our destination changed to Lake Bob Sandlin at 6:30am. This was a little further out but worth it.
