This was our first time fishing the Detroit River through Fishing Booker and
it turned out better than we could have imagined. It was great learning the technique of jigging for walleye using the quality rods and reels along with the jigs that were all provided to us during the charter. Just be prepared to enjoy the experience and the fish you hope to catch.

If you need a hotel, spend the extra $30-50/night at a good hotel. Cheap hotels are bad news in this area!!! Lots of shady characters, drugs, among other things... During daylight town is decent, lots of eateries, cocktails.

Make sure you dress for the weather. The river is wide and the wind will certainly be a factor for how cold it is going to be on the water. Nothing worse than getting into the fish and having a bad day because you are under dressed. You can always take some clothes off. I recommend that you go with someone that has experience with fishing the river for your first trip.

Listen to the Captain. Their guidance is point on, and courteous. They really can turn you into a fisherman.

Wish the weather was better. Is was colder than I would have liked. The fishing was better a week before.

About Time Charters is the charter to choose when looking to book a trip for walleye. Captain Damon is really nice, has great equipment and gets the fish! You won't be disappointed.

The season is winding down in may in wyandotte for walleye but we still landed some great catches most of them were over 20 inches. I would prefer april but covid 19 wasn't having it?.

We actually went out of Newport and traveled into Canadian waters to catch our fish.
