Amazing experience with Captain Chris and his deckhand (can’t remember his name) the weather can be unpredictable. Cool one minute and hot the next. Just pack a sweater or light jacket to be able to take off.

Invest a little extra time in researching the prospective providers. Read the reviews. Make a selection. Be sure to verbally convey to your Captian and 1st mate regarding your level of experience with fishing. They are there to assist you in an enjoyable excursion.

Book your trip for early in the morning. We booked a full day trip, but it was shortened to a half day due to extreme heat warning. We are thankful to have had a captain that kept safety in mind first, and still got us out to get an amazing fishing trip in!
Christopher Smith
Definitely book with the fish trap. October is the end of the season but Dustin know the area and where the fish are.

Ben was the greatest Cpt and Luke was awesome. They exceeded my expectations and we cant wait to go back with other family members.
Ken Jones
Ask questions as the captain was great about communication about that to expect and and needs you have

Gulfport is a decent place to fish. You just need an experienced captain. I suggest Salinity Matters. A captain with over twenty years of experience fishing in the gulf.
Joe Deskin
Leave it all to Captain Chris … He will make sure your trip is unforgettable !

Expect fun , you going to experience wrestling fish it’s inevitable however not all fish you catch are keepers and thats

The bite is definitely hotter in the morning, but with the right captain, you can catch 'em all day long.

Yes, but if you’re not from the Ms area and decide to go in the summer then prepare yourself for the heat. It’s no joke

Be ready to move with the fish. Some areas will be great for a little while then turn off. We followed the fish and caught all d

If it’s your first time target a multiple activity charter that can change and try to put you on a variety of species so you hopefully do not have an uneventful day.

Book captain Ron. He and first mate Hunter are knowledgeable are professional with a down to earth attitude and approach

I recommend anyone wanting to have a good time and quality fishing experience to come fish down here during this time of year.
Vernon Tucker
Go out early. Check the tide schedule also… go with an experience guide, like the one we had…tjanks

Get a good captain with good reviews. Knowledge and professionalism matter. Even if you don’t catch as much as you want, a good ship and crew make or break your trip.
Jacqueline Mack
Pick the right size boat for your party and what you want to catch. Salinity was the right size for 2 ppl and we were able to fish close to structures.
Beth Johnson
It was a little chilly and windy but Captain Sonny was an expert in keeping us out of the majority of the wind so that we were able to catch fish! We had so much fun!
Apryl Garcia
We were first time anglers and they taught us what to expect. The fishing will be much better in May as the water warms up!

I take my youngest son once a year on a guided fishing trip and this was the best in our 5 years of going. The first time in gulfport though.

Book early, and remember morning fishing is more productive in mid to late June, due to the hot afternoons

Find a good experienced captain who can recommend the type trip you can catch fish on based on conditions and what they are catching at the time you want to go.

We caught stuff and it was fun, but nothing we could keep so don’t go in with high hopes or rude attitudes

The bite was great, but the fish were all pretty small. It was a great time catching the fish, we just didn't get to keep many.

As with any time of the year, great fishing on the Coast depends a lot on the weather conditions. Some months better than others but there are always plenty of fish to catch.
Jerri Gerlach
Completely depends on your expectations. Weather can play a part of what you can expect to catch.
Cassie Ramos
Definitely hot…be prepared and pack plenty of refreshments and snacks…sunscreen is a must
Ron & Donna Baade
The weather was brisk and the wind was stronger than most but we still caught pan fryers.

Fish are biting this time of year. Especially if you have an experienced captain who knows the area
