What would you recommend to anglers fishing in Melbourne, Victoria for the first time?

If you are from the USA, make sure to bring cash. Locals don't seem to have Paypal, Venmo or any of the other systems common in the US and doing wire transfers is pretty much impossible because of various US and Aus bank security features around needing local cellphone numbers, multiple pass codes, text codes and a slow LTE cellular network. I ended up having to go physically into a bank the next day to pay Mal what I owed him.

Take sea tablets.. Try Qwels as Travel Calm did not work for me this time. It did work on other days.

Australian Salmon were plentiful with the right lure. We were catching them one after the other.

Anglers avoid real time charters if you want to catch fish, they use old bait and phone fish with other charters. Not too mention let children operate the boat.

Just make sure you bring a jacket, Melbourne being Melbourne you never know what the weather will be like. And enjoy your time out on the water.

Great captain who was really knowledgeable and tried really hard to find fish, but unfortunately they were all resting on Friday!

There weren’t many fish to be caught but that’s not the fault of the captain or crew.

Wasn’t the greatest of days weather wise but that’s Melbourne. You get what you get.

Expect to catch something at least and Havre fun. People are positive and affirming.
