What would you recommend to anglers fishing in Avalon, California for the first time?

Water was cold for this time of time of year so there wasn't much action for yellowtail, tuna, or Dorado yet. July was fun, but will probably shoot for an August trip next time to try and get on some more meat for the freezer.

Considering that the fish are less active when the water is colder, we had a great time and had no trouble finding fish. Take a jacket to be sure you're not cold.

It was our first time fishing in Avalon and would definitely recommend it. We limited out on tuna and also caught a nice California Sheephead

This time of the year is phenomenal. On the way back we saw a mahi boil. Hundreds of them
