Great time to go apparently, I wanted to be after shark and cobia. I've always wanted a tarpon. Captain said they don't get them there. We hooked a monster tarpon, captain couldn't believe it! Had a hell of a fight on him. Then a 5-6' blacktip shark. Will be back for cobia.

Come here with an open mind (fishing is heavily dependent upon the weather and specifies caught depends on the time of the year) and bring your reeling muscles. You’re in for a good time and for some, a nice little workout.

Fishing is a hit or miss. Don't expect to get a catch. But do intend to have fun. Catching is a plus. Fish do get off the line. But it its a fun and learning experience..
Every day is different. Just have fun.

Put sunscreen on first.
Ware a sun protection shirt.
Ware a hat, sun glasses.
Take a bottle of water.
Bring your camera.
That is all you will need for a amazing adventure
TIP YOUR CAPTAIN VERY WELL.
Your life is in his hands.
He will show you the ocean and what is in it, in a way you have never seen.
This is a experience and memories you will always have. Enjoy ???????

Enjoyed te fishing, Captain Adam on the Tide Chaser. Temperature was cold and the fish were not biting, this happens. The trip was great, I highly recommend fishing the Tide Chaser. Capt. Adam was helpful, friendly, knowledgeable, provided many fishing tips. Take away the cold temperature and catch a few fish and this would have been a little better. This was an Excellent Trip, I will be going out again with Capt. Adam soon. I recommend using the Tide Chaser when fishing Murrells Inlet! Thank you.

It is certainly hot in the summer months and July is no different. Going on a private charter and 7 miles from shore was well worth it. I would not expect a great deal of fish as it is probably unreasonable to expect when it is so hot unless you go further out and would require a full day trip. Fun for the family and caught lots of different fish that we released that include Shark, Pin Fish, Puffer Fish, Sea Bass and Cobia.

Easy access and Crazy Sister Marina makes parking validation so easy. Just scan the code in the parking lot then go in and they will give you a validation word to put in through a text. Super easy, super quick!!

Do your homework. Captain AL was supposed to be our captain "as advertised" but he is somewhat retired according to Captain Scott. Like most fishing trips you never what your going to get. Some crews work hard to make it a great experience and others just do the minimum. Reviews can be deceiving, ask around and do your homework.

August if you want to catch fish you can keep, go deep water if possible. They encouraged us to do 3/4 day, but we really were looking for 1/2 day nearshore as our first experience. Will return for the deep water next time.

The water was a little ruff getting to where we went but that was the weather and nothing to do with the boat or captain. the captain did a great job. The crew was always right there to help. All the guys had a great time and want to go again in the spring. Can't wait.

#1. Find this Captain.
#2. Don't have too high of expectations of landing a boatload of 20# redfish or 10# flounder.
#3. Slow down, enjoy the time with your family.
#4. Either go inshore - or plan a full 16 hour deep off-shore. Don't waste time and money on 6-8 hour boat rides just off shore..
#5. Tip your Mate - or if your Captain does it all, appropriately tip him/her as well.

Try to select a trip that has an in coming or out going tide. You can catch fish during a slack tide, but it's much more difficult. I would definitely recommend captain Caleb from Hook and Line fishing. Great guy and terrific guide.

First time visitors who want a fresh water adventure and catch fish need to book with Captain Todd. You will learn a great deal and have fun at the same time.
We saw alligators, crabs, Osprey, and caught fish too.

Like all salt water fishing species target should be anything that bites while you can target certain fish depending on a lot of factors what actually bites if anything is subject to many variables. Tides, weather fronts, and many other variables affect the bite. Crews work hard to put you on the fish but can't guarantee results.

Be prepared for choppy water and strong winds. Weather can change on a dime, must be flexible and patient to have a good experience. Wide variety of delicious fish. People friendly and always willing to help.

Go to a knowledgeable and experienced charter and let me tell you On The Fly Captain Jimmy is the real deal !!!

James Marizek
Pay attention to weather and time of year. The warmer the water, the better options for active fish.

Check with the captains before you book your trip as the time of year determines what fish you can target.

Fishing the inlet is great, I'd recommend reading reviews of the charters to ensure they'll match your expectations. Look at the boat type also to make sure it matches your needs.

If you want to go farther offshore, book a longer trip. We booked a 5 hour trip and I am glad I did because 4 hours would have been too short for us!

Spanish mackerel is common and good for eating. Would love to go for flounders but they are later in the year.

Just be prepared for any weather conditions. Bring a lunch and sunscreen. Polarized sunglasses are a must! Murrells Inlet is a fabulous facility!

Tyler Blackwell

Bring extra clothes to accommodate for weather and snacks and drinks. Also use restroom before arriving as there is no restroom on boat. If you plan on keeping catch bing cooler and ice!

Don Jackson

This rating is highly subjective to it being only about a week after hurricane Ian. The boat and Capt. Tyler were exceptional!
