What would you recommend to anglers fishing in Holmes Beach, Florida for the first time?

Great time to get out there. The waters were calm and the fish bite constantly. Only down side of this time of year is several species are closed, so they can't be kept, including amberjack, red snapper, and gag grouper.

Book a guide. Alot of rules for running the waterways here with alot of shallow flats also.

Be aware that the weather is in constant change. There are no guarantees that every day will be a banner fishing day. That’s why it’s called fishing.

Be prepared for inshore fishing if the water is too rough in the gulf. Protect yourself from the sun. Get ready to catch some fish!

Just listen to your captain that is what they are there for. They will put you on the fish.
