What would you recommend to anglers fishing in Mazatlán, Sinaloa for the first time?

Bring some extra food for yourself especially if you are a big eater. This is a long time to be out on the water if you get hungry. Also confirm the amount of time out on the water and expected time to be at the dock. I thought that we had enough time for some bottom fishing like an hour or so as we had a late start and came back early. Our 8 hour trip was only around 6 hours. Also if you catch a fish get some clarity before you leave as we where told that you can take the fish to a restaurant for them to cook for you or back to your resort. I caught a marlin and we came back with it whole and we didnt leave with it.

We had a great day on the water! The fishing was a little slow but we saw Marlin and Sailfish jumping and chasing our bait which was really exciting. We ended up catching one small dorado on our trip!

This was my first time also but it was excellent! Memorys that family and friends will never forget especialy with the great days catch. We also saw whales and Sea turtles close. Made a check in my bucket list ? But everyday can be different fishing so I never try to get my hopes to high Enjoy the day, and take in Gods wonderful creations.

We did the inshore fishing which is fun because it's very hands on fishing and we caught several different species. We were not able to keep the fish as the cruise ship doesn't allow it back on and we didn't have time to do a cook your catch, which we would of done had we had the time. The crew was very appreciative of the fish and its good to know they will use it.

Had an awesome day fishing. Captain and deck hand were great, knew what they were doing and very friendly and attentive. Only thing that could have been better was a couple pieces of equipment could have been newer/in better shape. Overall I would highly recommend this charter, and more than likely book with them again on our next visit

Ask locals what fish you are most likely to catch the time of year you go. Take extra clothes for warmth and sun protection because it can go from cold to hot very quickly and some boats have no place to get out of the sun.

Mazatlan fishing is world class and a must do. Pepe’s Fleet - Tiger Shark is a perfect boat to go out for the day. They will put you on the fish. Great for people of all ages.

No idea if it's normal but with 0 bites in 4 hours seems like it's not a great place to fish at this time.

Paid for 5 hours and we only fished three hours. Crew did not really interact or try and catch fish.

It’s hard to rate this type of fishing in general terms. The locals say it’s a good time of the year so I’ll take their word for it.

The boat and crew are very experienced seasoned fisherman they use this knowlege and experience to find and get you into catching fish of a lifetime

Fish were 15 miles out majority of the half day trip is driving be aware of the distance to travel when deciding half or full day

It's fishing. You wait for bites. May be a lot, may be only a few, but you can enjoy the boat ride.

It was cool in the morning so we wore hoodies. Take gravol or motion sickness medicine before you get on the boat.

Bring layers, go at the crack of dawn, have snacks, and have fun. Don't be disappointed if you don't catch anything. Give them tips!

I don't know if our experience is typical. We went fishing at 9:00 am until 1:00 pm. Maybe the fish bite better earlier or later in the day?

Plan on bringing food and plenty to drink. Don't forget your camera. We went when it was pretty humid, but when both windows were open the cross breeze was amazing

Use a reputable outfitter. I have done it with friends of a friend and the outfitters. The outfitters are better

When the bites hot it’s hot and when it’s not, it’s definitely not! Was hoping for a marlin but no such luck.

We were told that November through March is the best fishing and that seemed to be the case!

Put a smile on your face, use plenty of sunscreen and hang on cause the fish fight hard.

Lits of sun screen n long sleeve shirts, get live bait, thats what we caught are bigger fish on!!

Bring sun screen, hats sun glasses , long sleeve fishing shirt, CASH NOT CREDIT CARD.

Bring Dramamine and sunscreen, and it is not a guaranty that you will catch fish.

Fishing in June is hit and miss, next time we will be back in October - November.

March is late in the fishing season, I've had much better luck in November, December.
