The environment is beautiful, salt water species, some fresh water mixed in depending on salinity levels means you never know what you.may catch. The lakes and bayous are huge...dont forget bug spray ( though capt. Had some to use)
Abraham Ramirez
Absolutely, fishing with captain Brad made it so you just purchase your license (online, quick and easy) then show up and everything you need is there. Take a cooler if you plan on keeping it you can buy at the small shop at the dock.
Tina Thomas
Bring bug spray. The mosquitos swarm for about 30 minutes at dusk. Other than that. Book with Captain Clinton deArmas. He is knowledgeable and great at communicating exactly how to get the fish in the boat. You'll have a great time.

Get a great Captain like Brad who knows the area you are fishing. Be prepared for the heat of July. We made sure to select a Captain with a boat that had shade. Dress appropriately for the sun and heat of July. We had a blast and caught a lot of fish even in July.

According to some of the locals and a couple of captains that I spoke to, the fishing around New Orleans has been tough this year, however I would not have known that, as I had an excellent day on the water and caught a variety of fish.

Make sure you find a good guide like captain Clinton who's eager to share generational fishing knowledge, clean and bag all the fish, and be ready to have a great time. In addition, don't forget the sunscreen protection.
Chris Collett
Book with Captain Clinton. He will help you and let you know exactly what you need to bring for the day.
David Ordonez
Super hot in August so go early if possible. Wear UV protected long sleeves and full brimmed hat. Polarized sunglasses and plenty of drinks.
Cory Doyle
It can be tough, but a good guide can put you on them (just can't convince them to eat!). Be prepared for hot weather (sunscreen and lots of hydration).
Tyler Zubak
Captain Mitch has the knowledge and expertise to help anyone land a fish of a lifetime regardless of prior experience!
Crystal Bohannan
It’s HOT?!!! We got sunburned even with applying and reapplying sunscreen, but we knew it was going to be brutal!
Tony Araujo
Long sleeve shirt pants and sunblock.conditions change so get sleep before you go. You will be tired at the end of the day .
Bernie Swanson
Listen to your Captain. They are the expert.
They know the water. The fish. The right bait and the right technique for fishing in Louisiana
John Hough
The weather was windy and rough and our fish catching was 3 fish in the first 6 hours. The capt extended 3 more hours and we caught 18 more....it was a lot more fun in those 3 hours!
Darryl Green
Listen to the captain. Captain Clinton knew where to fish, how to fish the spot, and how to read the water for the best chance.
Justin Billingsley
This was our first time, and it was well worth it. Great spots, great fish, all inclusive, WAY better than any French Quarters tour!!!

Baton Rouge, Louisiana
It was cold and windy with no insects and the overcast sky made it very comfortable. By far a great time to go fishing.
Jeremy Good
Just remember it's called fishing and not catching. A great Captain can put you on fish, share their knowledge and give you a great experience.
Jon White
Talk to your guide ahead of time about the weather and what clothing to bring. Winter months may take several lays
Patti Lopitz
Call Captain Brad D’ Alphonso now!
He books dates like 3-4 months in advance.
He has patience the only quality that makes an excellent fisherman. Not all Captains are patient.

El Paso, TX
Bring a friend! You are going to catch a lot of fish. And bring something to eat and drink for trip!

It's good in the morning and possibly evening but once it's hot they stop biting. Hydrate early and often. It was recommended to go October thru January for speckled trout.
Jared Kraft
It's hit and humidity in August. Bring sunscreen, hat, cold water, and sunglasses
Chad Kodiak
Yes with Captain Frenchy. There is nuance to NOLA that is enhanced with a great guide.
Chad Bailey
Red fish, bass, speckle trouts, crappie, drum. They should even try fresh water fishing
Michael Daughtry
Come on down. This Captain will get you on fish and a pleasure to spend the day with
Brody Caston
My recommendation is simply to call Bayou Paradise Fishing Charters. They will take care of you!
Michael Champagne
Find a guide that understands your level of experience and works with you for your best outcome.
Debbie S Fletcher
Make sure you know where you are going or be sure to get a guide like Bayou charters.

When fishing in March be prepared for cooler weather than reported in the weather app.
