Bring bug spray. The mosquitos swarm for about 30 minutes at dusk. Other than that. Book with Captain Clinton deArmas. He is knowledgeable and great at communicating exactly how to get the fish in the boat. You'll have a great time.

Get a great Captain like Brad who knows the area you are fishing. Be prepared for the heat of July. We made sure to select a Captain with a boat that had shade. Dress appropriately for the sun and heat of July. We had a blast and caught a lot of fish even in July.

According to some of the locals and a couple of captains that I spoke to, the fishing around New Orleans has been tough this year, however I would not have known that, as I had an excellent day on the water and caught a variety of fish.

Make sure you find a good guide like captain Clinton who's eager to share generational fishing knowledge, clean and bag all the fish, and be ready to have a great time. In addition, don't forget the sunscreen protection.

Jon White
Talk to your guide ahead of time about the weather and what clothing to bring. Winter months may take several lays

Call Captain Brad D’ Alphonso now!
He books dates like 3-4 months in advance.
He has patience the only quality that makes an excellent fisherman. Not all Captains are patient.

Ally Tweedale
So knowledgeable of fishing and patient! He could teach anyone how to fish I’m sure of it!

Bring a friend! You are going to catch a lot of fish. And bring something to eat and drink for trip!

It's good in the morning and possibly evening but once it's hot they stop biting. Hydrate early and often. It was recommended to go October thru January for speckled trout.

As with all guides call and speak to them, learn about what is going on before your trip.

It’s is still humid and hot after 10am so bring a hat some mosquito repellent just incase.
