What would you recommend to anglers fishing in Pompano Beach, Florida for the first time?

I would go somewhere else. Tons of boats in the water, these waters are fished very hard and might be overfished. We didn’t get a single fish in the boat in 4 hours on our first charter. The second one we had planned was cancelled by the Captain due to 4-6 foot waves, that is a calm day on the water where we come from. Two days of charter fishing planned and we are going home without seeing a fish in the boat.

The waters are very rough, you can’t even stand up straight to fish. You get sea sick very quickly and have to come back. It’s not for young children, it’s not for adults older than 50, it’s not a pleasure experience, as soon as we entered the sea we had to hold onto a boat cause otherwise we would fall and hurt ourselves.

Ask the captain for the right clothing. I expected sunny, hot weather, but I forgot a rain jacket for the cold morning breeze. The captain prepares everything else.

Definitely use killing time charters they are excellent captain and crew first class very knowledgeable

It is chilly some morning so come prepared! Be aware of local parking laws before arriving in the dark to fish.

Weather was good for November but will probably do this again in the spring /summer when the ocean is a little calmer.

Go out and get your lines wet with Capt. Anthony. Great captain and knowledgeable fisherman and knows where to look for the fish. Highly recommended!

You will catch a few of the Bonitos which are a great fight but are inedible to most. Just be patient, something nice will come along soon.

Very hot heat wave in the south. Timing was not optimal for best odds for catching and the fish knew it.

I went for my Birthday which happens to be in August. In an ideal world, I wouldn't go fishing in August as it's very hot.

Conditions were difficult with 6 foot seas. Capt Mike did great but first time anglers might have difficulty

Water is rough in January, but if you are from the Midwest it is still a great time. We didn't know waters are better in the summer, but it's too hot for us in the Summer!

It's hot and rain showers are frequent. Sunscreen and liquids are a must. Go out early rather than later in the day

It was unseasonably cool (highs in low 70s) but fish were still out there. Just a bit of patience needed. Morning probably better than afternoon.

It is a bit cold & windy in the early morning but its great because the fish is hungry and bite fast

Yes, Seemed to be boats in the area all fishing Unfortunately due to sea sickness by two of my party we had to go in early.
