What would you recommend to anglers fishing in Hamilton, Ontario for the first time?

A Phantom lake trout fishing charter #1. . I was born in 1957, the year the St. Lawrence Seaway opened to the Great Lakes. Sea lamprey flooded in, destroying the thin scaled lake trout population. I was on a tourist charter trip in July 1969 (man walks on moon!) off Sauble Beach and our guide told us the lamprey wiped out Lake Huron trout in twelve years! Given the pollution of industry from Hamilton (I am a retired Stelco worker), as we'll, and the relative fragility of trout/char/salmon species, the fishery recovery is all the more remarkable. And you guys have taken full advantage. Next time I will request a left hand crank reel, since I am right handed (my baitcasting and spincasting reels are left hand crank) and I have slight arthritis. Regardless, the trip was fab and I could only express in your questionnaire the outing met my expectations, when, in fact, it surpassed them. So, thanks again, guys. See you in the fall.

Please listen to your captain and always follow their recommendations. If they tell you a day is not good follow their instructions the captains know the waters they boat and fish in like the back of their hand. Our captain was very knowledgeable. Recommended a different day and it was spot on.

Beware of the traffic when getting there since Hamilton on the lake is on the very busy expressway.

Weather was great being from Georgia not to cold but would recommend bringing a small jacket/rain jacket to keep the wind off

Make sure the water is warm or make sure the fish are bitting I know you can't catch fish all the time we did catch 1 it's all good

As a First Timer I would definitely recommend Hamilton and an experienced Captain
