Kyle is an extremely hard working guide. My dad and I took my 13yr old son out for his first salt water fishing experience, and it was exceptional. We caught rock fish, a big Ling Cod and two beautiful Spring Salmon. We also caught crab and prawns.
It was a great day yet it was looking like the Salmon were a long shot. As the day was winding down Kyle's sheer hustle yielded results. Expectations were definitely exceeded. We'll be back to Ucluelet and we'll definitely book Kyle again.

Be sure to bring warm clothing. Although the day of the charter was very windy and cold despite being hot on the previous day. Layers of clothing is the way to dress. And if necessary bring some Gravol if you are prone to motion sickness!

Book a charter that is able to assist you in fishing for the fish species you are targeting and have fun.

The coastline is protected a bit by small rock islands which reduced the swells. We also go to see some sealions nearby.

Use Captain Lyle if possible for overall experience and helpful attitude ! Distance to fishing grounds only about 20 minutes or a bit longer for halibut

We recommend you to use Capt Kyle as he goes the extra mile. From the dock to the fishing grounds is approx 20 mins and a bit longer for Halibut

Be prepared for chonky salmon that run football fields and get your adrenaline going! Plus huge halibut and even albacore tuna if you go at the right time.

Book a spot to camp or hotel well in advance. Ucluelet camp ground was excellent very reasonable $42.00 a day

I would recommend getting a hold of Brent from West Coast ocean charters. He knows his stuff. He's an amazing fisherman we had a great time on his boat and everything was excellent!

Wear several layers. The best fishing is on a cloudy day, but that means no sun to keep warm

Dress for the weather, take some gravol if it's windy to avoid motion sickness.

Bring warm clothes as needed. Be flexible as weather can change your plans by a day or two.
