We had an amazing time. He was ready to go early and allowed us to fish until the very end. Captain Bevan even stopped to tow a disabled boat back to the launch on our way back (he did check with us first to see if it was fine if we were slightly delayed back to the landing, and of course we were to be able to help someone else out). During our trip my son got slightly sea sick. Captain Bevan quickly changed gears and put us on other species of fish in calmer waters. We were fortunate to be catching fish our entire trip. He even gave us some tips to catch fish on our own since we’re from out of state. We can’t say enough good things about Captain Bevan and Chilly Waters Fishing Charter.

I wanted to take my two boys on a fishing trip when we were in Myrtle Beach. My boys are 13 and 9. We are so thankful we ended up going with Chilly Water and Captain Bevan. My boys had a great time and so did I. The fishing was great. Captain Bevan knows where the fish are. He was so patient with us. Getting to talk with Captain Bevan while we were fishing was awesome too. If you are with him, ask him about him and his wife giving their van away. Pretty incredible story of faith.

It was my first time on a small private charter so I wasn’t sure what to expect. Capt Hunter was early and ready to go on our arrival. It took us a little longer than expected to find some bait but we got enough to get started fishing. I wasn’t bothered by that although some people may be upset that they didn’t have lines in the water within an hour. It was part of the experience. Capt Hunter had his spots to go fish and each location did produce fish. When the fish quit biting, Capt Hunter moved us to another spot. Capt Hunter extended our time a little to get on some bigger fish and we found some. The boys had some rod benders and super excited about it. Overall we had a great experience. Capt Hunter was knowledgeable, respectful and very laid back. If his plan didn’t work he had other options he wanted to try. He went above and beyond to give us a great experience.  We’ll be back! Captain Bevan is patient and has a kind demeanor. He went out of his way to try to connect us with fish and even took a little extra time to try to get fish in our cooler. Unfortunately, the big fish were not cooperating today. However, we did have a lot of fun experiencing inshore/nearshore fishing and catching a variety of fish. Being a bit of a nerd for fisheries and biology, the experience was awesome. I would use Captain Bevan again. I hope to book an offshore trip with this captain sometime in the future.
