We were unfortunate with the weather and I asked our captain to take us to a calmer area. He kindly agreed but warned us that chances to get fish in another area are low. But we Went!
It was all fun at the first time, despite the waves, but on the way back the waves became bigger + we became open to the sun… oh… tough). At the end we did not feel too well and did not catch anything 😢.
But the crew did really well, they were confident and calm. I was less nerveus looking at them).

Trip started from spanish water near our accommodation at 7am after about 25 min we started fishing. We only catched 2 small tuna (for bait) and 2 rainbowrunners. After this it took some time but the crew did everything to make us catch some real fish. In the last 45 minutes of the trip we managed to catch 11 mahi mahi’s 😀. Captain Gordo booked a restaurant for us where they grilled a mahi mahi for us the next day, realy tasty. I’m very satisfied with the overal experience.
So if you want to fish on Curaçao, Gordo and Coronel are the best!

Great trip! Started fishing almost right of the inlet and continued the entire day. This wasn’t just aimless fishing or “tourist trolling” but working multiple areas to find fish. Great job Capt Gordo.
