Our experience with Captain Jon’s fishing charter was nothing short of exceptional! My brother and I took our two teenage sons to a spring break fishing trip in the Keys, and boy, did Captain Jon deliver!  From the moment we stepped on board, his professionalism and passion for fishing were evident. He’s just one of those genuinely nice guys.

The morning fishing session was phenomenal! We caught more fish than we could count, and the excitement on our sons’ faces was priceless.  One of the boys had the hot rod.  The other had a barracuda snatch his catch right at the boat and go on a line peeling run.  Captain Jon’s knowledge and experience paid off as we reeled in one catch after another.

Even as the wind picked up (pretty bad) in the afternoon, we continued to have a blast. Switched up and tried to find a shark.  Had one bite, but no luck.  Captain Jon’s positive attitude and determination to make the most of the day never wavered, and neither did our enjoyment.

After the trip, we walked out with bags of filleted fish and a restaurant recommendation.  Best lunch ever!

My 18-year-old son and I did a night tarpon trip with Jon. It was the highlight of our time in Islamorada!  Jon adjusts the start time to coincide with the best fishing conditions, so we didn’t leave until 10:15pm. I was a little concerned about how late it was, but it was absolutely amazing!  Never a dull moment. We hooked 8 fish and were able to bring 2 to the boat. These tarpon are absolute beasts!  One was about 120 pounds, and the other was 110 pounds.

It was our first time night fishing, and it was great. Felt like we had the entire ocean to ourselves.

Jon was very patient, knowledgeable, and passionate. If you want a memorable adventure with an excellent guide, book with Jon!

  Start to finish Capt. Jon was responsive and knowledgeable!  My son and I have never before hooked or let alone landed a tarpon and Jon was extremely confident that he would at least get us a shot or 2.  Well that shot turned out to be a monstrous 17.  As we ended up landing 7 of these monsters out of 17 hook-ups!
  The smallest went about 120 lbs and the largest, which happened to be the last fish of the night, was around 150 lbs.  That fish almost spooled my son during its initial run too.  To say we were were excited and happy with the result would be an understatement!

We had a memorable day of fishing with Captain Jon. He put us on fish right away and the action never stopped. We caught 13 different species of fish, including 9 permit. The day was capped off by 3 hits while shark fishing in less than an hour. We regret not taking the opportunity to go out with Jon on a nighttime tarpon trip and will make it a priority for our next trip to the Keys.

Absolutely loved this trip. Capt. Jon is awesome. He was very kind, funny and patient. We went to multiple different spots and he made sure we were catching fish. My wife was hesitant about going but ending up love it. Water was calm and Jon kept us in the fish. Im excited to come back and fish for tarpon!
