Das Angeln nach Blauem Marlin auf der Inselkette der Azoren ist am besten vom kleinen Hafen Horta auf Faial Island. Die hier gefangenen Blauen Marline sind in der Regel größer als der Durchschnitt und wiegen zwischen 180 - 270 kg (400 - 600 lbs). “Granders”, Marline mit über 450 kg (1000 lbs), werden jedes Jahr gefangen.
Zwei beliebte Fischgründe sind die Condor Bank, etwa 20 Seemeilen (37 km) vor der Küste und Princess Alice Bank, etwa 42 Seemeilen (78 km) vor der Küste. Viele der IGFA Rekorde für Blauen Marlin wurden auf den Azoren gefangen, einschließlich der Rekorde für die 50 und 80 Pfund Schnur Klasse.

Coastal fishing was nice. It’s my second visit in, July. I fished with a crew I met last time in the Marina and once again, there was a lot of Dolphins.
Seeing all the Dolphins is absolutely amazing, but makes fishing a bit challenging.

Inshore fishing is basically a sure thing and the landscape vistas are top notch.
