The temperatures are low, but fishing is hot. With Cod steadily meandering and Pollock gradually improving, you'll warm up in no time. And after a long day of battling these perky fellas, reward yourself with a hearty Cod meal.

Now that the winter slumber is over, more species are starting to emerge and will be in full swing soon. Spring announces the arrival of more headliners like Flounder and Haddock. They'll be around for quite some time, too.

May is the unofficial beginning of the fishing season. The fish species are numerous, but available fishing charters are already becoming scarce. This is the ideal time to team up with a local captain before it's too late.

When the Oak Bluffs Bluewater Classic tournament begins, you'll know that serious fishing is about to unfold. The offshore excitement has been building up for weeks and it's slowly but surely reaching its peak.

The deep blue royals are waiting for you, and it's high time you went after them. This is the moment for Tuna and Sharks to shine. Don’t forget, Martha's Vineyard Sharks have already been immortalized in the famous movie "Jaws."

Late summer is when the local favorites are on everyone's radar. With the Martha's Vineyard Striped Bass and Bluefish Derby around the corner, Stripers and Blues will soon be on every angler's menu.

If you thought that your tight lines were loosening, think again. The Derby is going strong with Bluefish and Striped Bass dominating these waters. And it's about time Tautog entered the scene as well.
