Head out on a Port Isabel fishing adventure and see what this stunning historic town has to offer. Previously drenched in legends of pirates and hidden treasures, today it’s a quaint fishing village with access to some of the richest waters in Texas. The shallow Laguna Madre offers incredible inshore fishing opportunities, while the deep waters of the Gulf of Mexico will give you a real adrenaline boost!
Inshore, you’ll find the crystal clear waters of Laguna Madre both a joy to look at and full of fish you can go after. Redfish, Flounder, Trout, Tarpon, Snook, Sheepshead, and many more await your bait. A half day trip is a great way to explore these waters and get familiar with the fishery, as well as to spend some quality time with your family in nature.
If you’re a more adventurous angler, and you’re looking to hook some deep sea monsters, the Gulf is a short boat ride away! The deep offshore waters hide creatures like Snapper, Grouper, Marlin, Mahi Mahi, and Tuna. You can explore them on a full day trip, or even an extended full day trip if you want to have some rod-bending action.
Port Isabel is a fishing town first and foremost, so it’s no wonder that you can find charters everywhere you go. Just head on down to the docks and take your pick of the bunch! South Padre Island is right across from the Queen Isabella Causeway, providing you with even more options.
