Frequently Asked Questions about Fishing Charters in Tillamook
Angeln in Tillamook
Oregon’s Tillamook has a lot going for it. This city is located right on the shoreline of Tillamook Bay, one of the most productive fisheries in Oregon. And beyond Tillamook Bay? The mighty Pacific Ocean lies in wait – and plenty of angling opportunities! All you have to do to experience them is hop aboard one of the many Tillamook fishing charters on offer.
Five rivers feed into Tillamook Bay and mix with the saltwaters of the Pacific Ocean, leading to a world-class brackish fishery. Because of this, an adventure onto the bay could see you hooking into anything from Chinook and Coho Salmon, to White Sturgeon, to Rainbow Trout. When you tire of the angling action available, you can then explore these waters for Crabs and Clams. The magic of fishing in Tillamook is that there really is something for everyone!
Choosing the perfect Tillamook fishing trip depends on what you want to catch. Crabbing is good year-round and makes for a perfect family-friendly activity. Trips usually start at a few hours on the bay’s shallow waters, with full day options also available. Beginners can opt for a half day introduction to these waters. More experienced anglers will want to head out for a full day. This gives you plenty of time to chase those trophy fish!
You’ll find local guides dotted all around the bay’s shoreline, offering both fishing and crabbing trips. Crabbing charters are especially popular in the summer months around Area G, and most clamming guides can be found in the upper bay. Traditional rod ’n’ reel fishing charters can be found in these areas, and everywhere in between!
All anglers age 12 and above will need a valid fishing license to cast a line in Tillamook. If you’re going crabbing, you’ll need a Shellfish harvesting permit too.
