Captain Juan Carlos is all about making sure fish are caught! He obviously knows the waters and is a lot of fun. Highly, highly recommend! We will book again on our next trip for sure.

Juan and the crew were great, Juan picked us up at Occidental Papagayo Beach on time. Bonita and Dorado "Mahi-mahi" were biting. We caught several Bonitas and a Large Dorado. Grey dolphins 🐬 swimming at the nose of the boat numerous times and turtles 🐢 swimming all over. Amazing 👏 time out on the water and I would seriously recommend Juan to others. We will be back for more fishing. More pictures to come.

It was a well run trip and the captain and his son were really nice, fun guys. We had a boat issue midway through, but got it fixed quickly and gave us some extra time to make up for it.

The captain is very experienced and the tour is well organized. We caught one tuna, four snappers, several small fishes. Best tuna sashimi we ever had! Also saw dolphins and a turtle, and pelicans and seagulls fight for the fish bones. Overall a unique and fun experience.

My daughter and I had a nice time fishing with CPT Mendez. Trip was simple to book & he even picked us up at our resort, which was very convenient! Fishing was a bit slow, we missed a Barracuda & a small Tuna, trolling , but then caught a few red snappers bottom fishing. I would recommend Juan Carlos to anyone looking for a great local fishing guide & experience.

Our fishing trip was amazing! Captain Mendez went above and beyond to make our trip a once in a lifetime experience! Friendly, professional, knowledgeable and hard working! The crew was great, the fishing was a success, and the sashimi was out of this world! Couldn’t have asked for a better experience. If you’re on the fence, do not hesitate to book with Captain Mendez! 10/10 recommend!

We really enjoyed our fishing trip with Captain Juan Carlos and his mate, Wagner. We caught plenty of tuna to feed all of us on board (Wagner prepared some of our albacore fresh - delicious!) and the rest we took to a nearby restaurant where they prepared it for our dinner. We highly recommend Juan Carlos!

Great captain and crew. Boat had plenty shade so it was comfortable on a hot day. Saw a turtle, couple pods of dolphin, a big school of rays, and possibly a whale. Caught bonito, red snapper, and a tiny grouper. Would definitely recommend

My family and I had a great trip, I did schedule a 8 hour trip in hopes of fishing offshore but unfortunately we cannot control the wind, we did catch fish, Captain and first mate worked very hard to make sure they didn’t miss an opportunity to hook up with a fish. Thanks for the day!

Fishing was slow but fish were caught including one yellow fin tuna. Captain, was not Capt Mendez. His son and the deck hand were in charge and spoke very little English. The worked hard and knew the fishing spots. Most of the fish were not hooked and reeled in by us. I was only handed a rod once the entire trip. We enjoyed being on the water but I was disappointed in the fishing experience.

Captain Juan organized to pick us up on the beach outside our hotel for an extra fee which saved us time. We fished for our live bait and then trawled for several hours. We caught a big Needle fish and a fighting Pompano which we took back to our hotel and had ceviche and grilled for dinner!

We had a great time. The crew worked very hard but we weren’t able to catch any big fish for the day but did get a couple of sea bass and snapper. During our trip the crew cut up some pineapple and also made us ceviche from the sea bass we caught for an unintended lunch. We then took the snapper with us to have for dinner. Even without catching big fish the service was great and it was very enjoyable. Thank you for the great experience.

Day we booked the trip turned into a windy mess. Around 40mph gusts so couldn’t really do much. Crew members were great guys and knew their stuff! Kind, friendly and would book again.

Any day out on the water is a good day, this was no exception, Capt and crew were great and put in the effort even though the fish would not cooperate. Thank you Capt. Mendez and crew, I had a blast, and the Ceviche was awesome! Pura Vida, next time we get that big Rooster …..!

Captain Mendez was an awesome guy. He worked hard to get us on fish. We did catch a Jack and he made cerviche with part of the fillet which was very good. He charged a fair price and worked hard for the money. I would recommend him for a nice trip.

I have fished in a lot of locations all over the world and I really enjoyed this trip because the captain and the mate were very professional and very good. They served a really nice lunch and snacks and we got plenty of fish. I would recommend them for sure. they picked us up on the beach, which was an experience.

Had a fun afternoon fishing saw dolphins & manta rays. Caught a nice crevasse jack ,just at gorgeous sunset

Well, we caught zero fish. But we had a great time and it wasn't for lack of effort on captains part. We had 3 hookups but lost them before we got to boat. No one was catching fis h,just one of those days!

Crew was great and met up with us as scheduled. They worked hard to find us fish. Unfortunately, the only fish we caught were barracuda, but it was fun. Just wish we had caught some fish that my wife would enjoy eating.

Had a really great half day trip. Captain and his sons were very nice . We caught 2 large fish .one albacore tuna,one large jack crevalle , Would go again any day.
