Osman is extremely knowledge of both of the Bow River and fly fishing techniques. Being fairly new to fly fishing he was able to quickly demonstrate to us proper casting/mending methods to quickly get us onto fish and throughout the day we were able to hook and land multiple trout. The scenery on the river was also amazing and there was plenty of wildlife. Will definitely be booking another trip with Osman when we come back to visit Calgary!

My 18 year old son and I have Meade a tradition out of adding a fishing trip to our family vacations.  We found Captain Oz on Fishing Booker and would definitely recommend booking with him. 

While we have fished all over, we were both novices at fly fishing.  Oz was patient and took his time in teaching us (and reworking the lines when we got them tangled).  The fish were not as cooperative (and when they were, we were found we were much better at casting than we were at setting the hook and landing the fish).

We definitely recommend cooking with Captain Oz and RiverPeopleGuides, especially if you are a novice and worried about not having a clue how to fly fish.

We enjoyed the experience, learning, scenery, conversation and the overall experience.  We will definitely use him again when we are in the Calgary/Banff area.

I took my son out on a 1/2 Day Trip to celebrate his 10th birthday while we were out in Calgary on Holiday. We had a blast fishing with Captain Oz! This was my son’s first time fly fishing, and it was great how much Oz coached him and helped him along. So many great tips and cues all along (for me too!). My son ended up landing an 18in Rainbow “Bow River Rocket.” He couldn’t be happier, and I couldn’t be more proud. All due to great guiding from Oz. Can’t wait to go back!! Thanks for everything!

Had an amazing experience! Captain Os was very patient and encouraging. He taught us proper technique and we caught so many fish we lost count ! He took pictures of our catches and sent them to us at the end of the day. Captain Os made us a delicious lunch that we had on the river bank. It was a great way to begin our vacation and we will definitely be scheduling another fishing trip with Os when we return to Calgary. Would 100% recommend scheduling a trip with Captain Os!

Oz was one heck of a guide. Had us fishing in no time and was an excellent instructor. Book a trip with him and you will not be disappointed. Listen to his instructions and you will be fly fishing like a pro. He’s a very passionate guy about the river and is almost more excited for you to catch a fish than you are yourself. 10 out of 10 for this trip we will be back!
