Captain David and his deckhand Allie were some of the friendliest and laid back people I’ve ever met. We were a group of 6 that had never been charter fishing before. They really paid attention to how our whole group was feeling and made sure we were all comfortable and having fun. He’s well prepared for inclement weather/unexpected situations, is super accommodating for those who get nauseous, hungry, thirsty, tired, cold, etc. We all felt safe.

Capt David doesn’t discriminate whether you’re an experienced angler or it’s your first time fishing, he’s all about having a good time and good energy. He’s super knowledgable about the waters & species, weather, and knows all about the Bay and its landmarks.

We were lucky to catch a nice lil sturgeon on this trip, a first for all 6 of us, and were super stoked about it the whole day!!! We regretted not doing a full day trip but 1000% plan on returning soon to fulfill that :)

If you are on the fence about booking, JUST DO IT!!! It’ll be an experience you won’t regret, I guarantee it. The views from the boat are enough to justify it all.

David and Susan were engaged and great coaches as Captain and First Mate. Great people to spend a few hours with. Our family of 4 experienced new adventures catching sharks, rays and halibut. A half day was the right amount of time for us. We all had a blast and felt safe and active. David also shared a lot of history from around the bay and various wisdom and knowledge. They had everything on board that was needed, including drinks and snacks. I would recommend getting your fishing license before heading out of town. Technically they should be printed and signed. Also, a license for a minor must be bought via phone or in person. The state of Cali will not process that on line. Great trip- highly recommended.

By far one of the best fishing experiences we have had! Absolutely amazing people and everyone was super nice! These guys know how to have a great time and provide an even better experience for their customers. We will be back for more!!

This was the best charter fishing experience! We got a private charter to celebrate my man’s bday..Captain David and Bradley were so cool, knowledgeable, friendly, funny, and really made us feel at home. Couldn’t have asked for a better captain and crew, we were in great hands! Our halibut catch was packaged on the Warrior Poet, and we had some of it cooked locally, & froze the rest for later. It was PHENOMENAL!!!  We had so much fun and can’t wait to do it again! Thank you Warrior Poet Sport Fishing

My parents, my friend and I had an amazing time with David and his crew. We spent half a day fishing in the Bay and learning about how and where to find Cali Halibuts. We also caught a few sand sharks that we put back in the water of course. We kept 3 legal Halibuts and David and his crew were nice enough to filet them for us! We took them home and cooked them that night: it was delicious! I highly recommend Warrior Poet Sportfishing, I would definitely go out fishing with David again!
