Long reviews don’t get read and you MUST read this so I’ll make it short and sweet. You would be missing out by booking with anyone else.  First off, they had so much patience with my kiddos and treated us like family right from the get go. Safety came first which was important to me as a mom. Then the fun part. When it was time to get down to business, all hands on deck. You were educated along the way and felt confident in what you were doing. Captain Pete and Chuck were always checking to make sure the kids were having fun,  if not then he said we’d move along. We caught Snapper and Mahi. The Mahi ended up being massive at 40lbs. They cleaned all of the fish and even set us up with getting the Mahi mounted. Apart from meeting two amazing human beings, we made memories for our family that will last a lifetime.  And I am certain this wouldn’t have happened on any other charter.

I think we got really lucky and blessed to get the catch we did.  (A shark, some Almaco Jack, and lots of Mahi-Mahi).  They said the catches haven’t been so great with the warm waters.  But, we caught soooo much!  We had never used reels like these before, and didn’t know the proper technique.  We probably should have told them how inexperienced we were so we could practice before having a fish on the line, because it got a bit hectic with none of us knowing what to do.  😂 we eventually figured it out, but Pete and Matt are pretty sarcastic/snarky, so you have to be able to laugh at yourself or you will get discouraged quickly.  Our 2 boys (ages 11 and 13), my husband, and my dad all fished. I watched and took pictures.  Overall, we had a great time and enjoyed the trip a lot! Looking forward to eating our catch for dinner tonight!

I can not say enough great things about my experience and trip! The Captain is a straight up guy that knows what he’s doing he had us on fish all day and kept everything clean and organized. My wife isn’t experienced in fishing but he had her engaged and pulling in tons of fish along with myself. 100% would recommend booking this charter and I plan to make this a reoccurring trip for my family. His first mate was on the ball and kept the hooks baited, the decks clean and us organized. If your looking for a great experience check these guys out!

I can’t say enough good things about Captain Pete. His experience, friendliness, helpfulness, patience, ability to adjust on the fly and hard worl ethic paid off and was more than appreciated. I’ve been on a hand full of charters and Captain Pete was my favorite even though we didn’t catch a ton of fish, but we certainly earned what we caught and that’s no fault of the Captain. If it wasn’t for his above listed qualities we probably wouldn’t have caught anything, but he refused to quit and caught us some quality fish.

Great experience from start to finish!! Captain Pete knows the waters and fish behavior so he was able to locate Mahi when the other charter boats that day came back empty handed and we came back with a full cooler. We also caught black fin tuna, oceanic tuna, rainbowrunners, and vermillion snappers!! 5 different species of fish total and all keepers!! We will be coming back and we will always charter with Captain Pete Jacobson!! If you read this Pete thank you for the awesome time!!
