I took my family to Holland for the Tulip Festival, and booked a charter with Powderhorn. Captain Tim called the day of our charter and let us know that our afternoon trip would be a rough day on the water due to the weather, and asked if we wanted to move it to the morning after with Captain Rosie. Captain Tim said that it would be more comfortable for our first time salmon fishing. We decided to make the switch, since it was pretty windy that day.

The next morning was beautiful. Clear skies, low wind, and calmer waters. The morning sunrise was beautiful. Captain Rosie and First Mate Ethan were amazing hosts aboard the N Pursuit. Captain Rosie is the kind of fisherman and captain you want to be taking you out to fish for salmon for the first time. They masterfully rigged and re-set our lines and put us onto the salmon! At one point we had 5 lines with fish on and we were able to land 4 of them. It was the most exciting fishing moment we’ve ever had.

Back at the dock, the fish were professionally cleaned. Captain Tim even asked my son if he wanted to clean a couple of them, and showed him how it’s done. Our camper’s freezer was stocked with fresh fillets, and we will enjoy eating them for months to come.

We will definitely be back to fish with the Powderhorn crew! This was my son’s childhood dream come true and I’m completely elated that the Powderhorn team could make this happen for my family. Thanks guys!!!

After Capt. Tim suggested delaying our 8/2/23 booking due to rough waters, we took to Lake Michigan a day later for a great 5:00 pm trip. Tim put me onto fish about 20 minutes after setting lines and I had my limit within a couple hours. It was my first fishing experience on open waters and it was a great trip indeed. We focused on King Salmon, but came on to this 33 inch Lake Michigan Lake Trout bonus. Thanks Tim, I’ve nearly forgotten about the sea sickness and truly appreciate you and your crew’s work. Thanks again !!!

We celebrated our Grandson 7th birthday.

He had the time of his life, caught a trout and Tim & Amber let him hand pull a fish to the net.

It was a bit of a slow day, with most of action at end.  11 hooked and 5 in the boat.

Captain Tim and the guys at Powderhorn eally do craft an amazing fishing experience. From the moment we arrived to the moment we left they were very friendly and hospitable. We lost more than we caught, but the guys were very entertaining and down to earth, and made the time fly by! If we come back to Lake Michigan, Powderhorn is the first call we’re going to make!
