We took a family 8 hour fishing trip with Captain Barbee and First mate Scott. We had a group of 10 and many have never done deep sea fishing. Captain Barbee and Scott were very friendly and made the start of the trip very positive and inviting on a chilly windy morning. Captain Barbee kept us on fish all day moving frequently to active spots looking for keeper fish. Scott was non-stop getting fish off hooks, untangling crossed lines and re-rigging broken lines and always positive, light hearted and friendly. We had only one member who was 13 and Scott was very encouraging when he had a line full. Very kid friendly crew.
The weather was not “ideal’ for Florida. North winds and chilly temps. Captain Barbee’s boat has a large temperature controlled area so we could go inside to warm up. There was padded bench style seating that allowed for plenty of sitting room inside as well as a large back deck to hang out outside.
The fishing was outstanding! Unfortunately Red Snapper was not in season because we caught a lot of them and of very good size along with several other species to include a remora. We brought back 80 fish but more than doubled that amount with what we had to toss back frequently having two and three fish on the line at the same time.

What an amazing day fishing with Stelluna Fishing Charters and we highly recommend Captain Barbee and Scott. We will definitely charter with them again next time we are in Destin!

We loved our trip on the Stelluna. The boat was on time, clean, and comfortable. We had a group of 9. Seven of us were able to fish at a time, and the deckhand, Scott, kept up with keeping all our lines baited and in the water while also helping take the caught fish off the hook, naming the fish caught, keeping count, and answering any questions we had without being overbearing. Caption Judah kept us on fish the entire 8 hour trip. We started by catching our bait fish then caught over 60 fish that they cleaned and filleted for us to keep/cook. They even prepared some of the fish to eat on our trip back to the dock. I can’t recommended Captain Judah and Scott of the Stelluna Family Friendly Charters enough!

Captain Judah and Deckhand Scott were both excellent.  Unfortunately for us, we had pretty high seas the day we went out and we had a few of our crew get seasick so we weren’t able to stay out long.  Captain Judah refunded us half of our money which he did not have to at all.  We are going to re-book with him later on in the year when the wind and seas calm down some when the weather warms up.  But they were both excellent for the time we were out there and don’t have a negative thing to say about the entire trip other than there were not many cast iron stomachs in our bunch LOL.  Appreciate you Captain Judah and Scott!

Stayed closer for mackerel, trigger fish, and other small species. Had lots of action the whole time. Also went after sharks and caught a couple nice ones. Scott was super helpful and really enjoyed our time. Been with a lot of charters and this was my favorite

Great Captain and First Mate. Super kind to my family and got us on the fish like they said they would.  The boat has a large area off the back to fish from where you don’t run into each other as you are fishing or running side-to-side with fish on.  I’m already planning a longer trip for next year.  Highly recommend.
