This Trip was originally scheduled for Aug 28, with the threat of inclement weather we rescheduled to Aug 30th, Day before Hurricane Idalia.  Had a great day, was one Red Drum away from limiting out, and caught our limit on Trout.  Caught one Over slot Red Drum (We released), and A Large Trout. We were able to catch one drum in slot and ate both of them that night at Blue Water Grill at Pirates Cove.  The rest of the trout was filleted and bagged and will go home with us.  Got rained on while cleaning the fish but it was ALL Good, will look forward to next vacation here in the OBX and Fishing with Hank.  Will try and get some pics uploaded later.

We had an awesome day. It started out by getting to catch live bait for use later which was a new experience and totally worth it. We then moved on to our fishing area and although it took a little bit for the fish to bite, which hey it’s called fishing not catching, the fish did start biting. The pictures above are just 2 of the 10 fish we caught. We had some keepers and our captain did everything he could to put us in the best situation possible to give us the most opportunity to catch fish. I would highly recommend Captain Hank for a fishing trip. He was very friendly and knowledgeable and helpful even helped my boy get more confidence at casting. Couldn’t have asked for anything more than what we had. If I could give more than five stars I definitely would.

Fishing is an inexact sport.  Finding fish is difficult and landing keepers isn’t always guaranteed.  We had a tough start catching nothing but short fish but after trying a few different spots Capt Hank had to decide whether to chase the catch where others reported bites or go with his instinct and take us back to where fish were biting but we couldn’t land a keeper.  He chose to go back to where we started and not only did we land 5 keepers, one was a jumbo 24 inch trout!  My son and I had a balland Hank went out of his way to make it fun and relaxing.  First mate Hunter was an exceptional angler and helped keep us on track the entire way.  Highly recommended!

What a great morning on the water with Captain Hank!! The fish were being a bit elusive but the enjoyment of the venture was priceless! I chose Captain Hank due to the reviews about the “experience” and it was worth every penny. Hank’s friendly demeanor was more than I expected. We had great rapport and shared a lot of “music” talk as I found out he plays as I do. Knowledgeable, friendly, professional and patient. I highly recommend Captain Hank for a memorable experience!!

Captain Hank and First Mate Hunter put us on speckled trout early.  My son and I both caught some fish and we put a couple keepers on ice to bring home. We enjoyed our morning as we moved to a couple different spots and learned about fishing in the area. The boat worked flawlessly and all gear was well prepared ahead of time with no issues.  Hank and crew made you feel like you knew them all your life. We will plan to go again.
